game looks avg. doesn't look like a "game of the year" stuff. I bet it gets 65-74% ratings when it comes out.

First three words out of the guys' mouth and I knew we were at First Look Amsterdam. Hadn't read the column yet.

Oh my god... The Dutch accents... Save me!

Sweet glorious healthbars, how long has it been?

Take your "veins" or tomatoe sauce rubbed on the screen and stuff em.

If they're going for self aware parody, I think it was already made and it was called Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard.

And THAT game had Neil Patric Harris AND you got to shoot the shit out of a emo-git FF7 stype JRPG protagonist.

As has been discussed on Alien Swarm many times, if you give the players a light-pen, they're going to draw boobs and dicks.
the big question is, do they draw dicks because they love them, or because they think its expected of them?
Because it's just something you do. The practice most likely comes from the either the animalistic side of marking territory or from the idea of desecration, but generally if you have a creation tool, the first thing you create...is a tool.

Then boobies.

This trailer actually made me want this game, just for the lulz! I'm serious, if the game has half the humor in the trailer, this will become my favorite shooter.

...wait, how do you get blown by two chicks at once? Does Duke have two dicks, or is there something else about this guy we don't know yet?

Still want AC: Brotherhood, though.

Twelve years in the making, it better be damn able to vacuum my floor and cook dinner, too. It doesn't take most doctors that long to go through college.

Besides doodling on the whiteboard making a very shoddy-looking penis, and urinating in the urinal, it seems to be just about every other FPS I've ever played.

Let's see if it survives the hype. Sad that most of the hype follows the line of: Yeah! It's about time!

/sigh

Wow, it looks........bad. I still honestly cant see anything coming out of this game other than just another overhyped FPS.
Thing is, we need an FPS like Duke Nukem again. If this game sells, it'll be a sign of good things to come, imo.
how so? it looks fun and if the reviews are good ill pick it up once it goes on sale, but they haven't tried to revolutionize the genre, it will still have rechargeable health and shields, auto aim and all the other stuff you will find in any other fps out there, this one will just feature some light-hearted humour, and if thats all you want then i can recommend deathspank.
Revolutionizing the genre is something which I feel isn't particularly easy. And I wouldn't expect something like that. But really, how often do you see humour in FPS's these days? How many times do you see a game not trying to be "ultra-realistic"? This would a be nice change of pace, and really, in today's enlightined times that's something I'm afraid is more or less necessary.
