No one is going to mention Samurai Jack? come on people that was an amazing cartoon.
THANK YOU! I was going to say the exact same thing! That show was amazing. And evidently, there's going to be a movie next year.

Justice League and Justice League Unlimited I thought was pretty awesome. To me it seemed right on par with Batman: The Animated Series. Samurai Jack was pretty awesome too, I really enjoyed that show. I still understand why it was canceled.

Flapjack is brilliant and Chowder is... decent. Those are the only 2 shows remotely worth watching on Cartoon Network now.
You summarized my thoughts on Cartoon Network completely.

Oh, how I long for the days of:

Courage The Cowardly Dog

Dexter's Laboratory

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Yes...The Powerpuff Girls, too.

Nothing on Nickelodeon is worth a damn. I can't wait to watch iCarly: Carly goes on more wacky adventures.
Watching The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy now, I realize that a) there were a lot of jokes I just straight up wouldn't have found funny as a child that I do now (I.e. the entire episode about Blacula and Grim being lost in the desert), and b) It was probably the... I can't think of the right word, but like, the 'worst' cartoon network has ever gotten. Literally, on a network where they're not allowed to mention death and dying, your main characters include: The Grim Reaper, A very disturbing, shining-esque girl, and an entire cast of hell-themed demons. They really did it right. I was officially sold on the show when I saw the character, "Puddin' " get fucking MURDERED by a demon zombie rabbit. I mean... how could I have watched that and not had nightmares as a child. It was the most disgusting... violent scene from any 'children's' show... EVER.
Invader Zim was MUCH more disgusting than Billy and Mandy. One episode revolves around Zim stealing children's organs. Can't forget the fact that everybody is absolutely nasty, cheesy, crusty and has some kind of mental issue. Although that episode in Billy and Mandy, with Puddin getting killed made me laugh so hard my ears were leaking an unknown substance. Probably my Gray matter.

Drawn Together was the best children's show (kidding). Lordy, did that show suck.
Ren And Stimpy.
Hasn't anyone watched that? It was messed up. But I do love all these shows... Especially Grim Adventures. I hear Spongebob has a lot of humour that kids would totally miss. Plus, there's this
Probably scarred a lot of children.

Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Easily the best show I have ever seen. Ever. Truly amazing.

Invader Zim as well, but it was canceled. So fail.

Avatar: The Last Airbender and Samurai Jack. Neither of which are on the air anymore, but both are brilliant.

Before I saw Super Hero Squad I thought it looked retarded... boy was I wrong.
No, I think you were spot on. That doesn't make it bad, but the show is handicapped in some brilliant ways. So's Batman's latest spawn, Brave and the Bold, which slaps most the heroes' collective personalities in the face and then has a musical episode that is so lame it's brilliant.

Really, though, of what's still around Phineas & Ferb seems to be the only thing worth a damn. Penguins, Oddparents, and some of the CN stuff isn't bad, but I won't go out of my way to watch any of it. Chowder and Flapjack are okay once in a while, but if you're not in the mood for them they won't float your boat, as Chowder is just bizzaro and Flapjack is really only worth it to find out what two or three word phrase the choir will belt out in any given episode. Both shows have some funky clay model moments, and some of those are worth a laugh, but by and large even CN's a bunch of garbage these days.

Avatar is pretty spiffy from what little I've caught of it. Sad as it is, I can't afford the DVDs, but I do intend to hunt it down online or something at some point because the show was put together really well, in truth.

-sits around missing the Angry Beavers and Invader Zim-

phineas and ferb. it's like family guy for children.

bt the best one already got cancelled. anyone remember the animaniacs?
Hell yeah. That show, Freakazoid, and Johnny Bravo where all amazing cartoons. Spongebob used to be quite funny as well, not sure if it still is or not. I started to get out of cartoons and I missed Billy and Mandy, but from what I've seen it was pretty good.

I contribute the decline of cartoons to 2 things.
1. The FCC. Animaniacs had lots of subtle adult humor which would probably not fly now.
2. The keyword for kids cartoons is no longer "funny" but rather "cool." Some spiky haired kid flying around with a jetpack for 2 minutes and then landing and saying something like "totally awesome." A little kid might go "wow, Max Awesome is awesome! I want to be just like him!" but nobody else will enjoy it and it's certainly not going to be as memorable.

EDIT: Shit! how could I forget about Megas XLR. Chicks dig giant robots.

I completely agree with that. Courage is brilliant. Dexter is incredible. And I never really got into the Grim Adventures but when I watched it I liked it...though The Powerpuff Girls made me want to commit suicide. I really didn't like it.

I love the original Justice League show (the one before they had the hundreds of new guys) and Batman Beyond. Those are awesome! Surprisingly enough Ben 10 is also pretty good.

From Nickelodeon though I used to like Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Odd Parents. I thought they were pretty good.

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was and is still the most amazing kid's show ever produced. And that is because I watch it.

..Why yes, I do have an incredibly large ego. Thank you.

Ahhh I remember watching Arthur and shows like Angry Beavers and Franklin the Turtle...

Also I don't think anyone will remember this but did anyone use to watch Archibald the Koala?

OT: Yeah shows are alright I guess but it'll never beat the shows we had "back in my day".

I was SO incredibly happy when Cartoon Network brought back Courage the Cowardly Dog. Seriously... one of the best cartoon ever.

As for ones on today? I've heard a lot of people saying Speongebob, and I'll have to agree (for the most part... some new episodes are BAD). Batman: The Brave and the Bold is HILARIOUS (especially Aquaman, he's a moron on that show). I also recently saw Johnny Bravo on Cartoon Network, and was blown away. Another show that I miss.

I also agree that Flapjack is awesome, and Chowder is... decent.

"The Replacements" are awesome!
Also, Fairly Odd Parents too.
I got bored with Oddparents for a while, but I've recently found some enjoyment from the show again... when I've managed to catch it on TV.
There are so very few American cartoons that can keep an adult entertained. It's a shame, really.
The Replacements is a show you must see, it's awesome, even the Norwegian dubbed version ^^

I think the days of Dexter's Laboratory (Before they changed the art style), Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy, I am Weasel (Michael Dorn FTW), Cow and Chicken are all brilliant in my opinion.
