The only modern kid shows I actually enjoy are Chowder and Flapjack (probably unsurprisingly), although Adventure Time actually shows some promise.

Spongebob was also quite awesome... up until the movie, that is. The only reason that show continues to have new episodes is executive meddling, and it shows. Seriously, watch any Spongebob episode from before 2004 (when the movie came out), and then watch one from after 2004. The difference in quality is staggering.

I'll take your word for it, as I've always hated Spongebob.

Well I've recently been trying to remove the nostalgia glasses from my own memories with varying degrees of success. I've realized that the t.v. landscape today is probably about the same as I remember. There is a lot of whacked out non-sense but there are also scattered gems. My childhood had the same, some truly good shows that I would still love now If they were new combines with idiotic shows that I love because I was a kid. I still like some shows but I know that the only reason i can stand them is because I was young and stupid and I see in them who I was. That said, Batman:TAS is the best kid show ever in the history of time. I know it's only Nostalgia that makes me say that but, dammit, those goggles on are so tight that nothing is going to change my mind.

You summarized my thoughts on Cartoon Network completely.

Oh, how I long for the days of:

Courage The Cowardly Dog

Dexter's Laboratory

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Yes...The Powerpuff Girls, too.

Nothing on Nickelodeon is worth a damn. I can't wait to watch iCarly: Carly goes on more wacky adventures.
Agreed, except I'd replace that list with "Anything that ever aired as part of Cartoon Cartoon". Best segment they ever had IMO.

I friggin love Advenuretime. It's like Chowder or Flapjack, but Finn and Jake ACTUALLY DO INTERESTING THINGS! Unlike Flapjack who just SAYS adventure, FInn and Jake actually go on adventures. True the series doesn't live up to the original short but that can be said about a lot of shows. And I'm not saying I don't like Chowder or Flapjack, but they are basically just Stoner shows while Adventure time is half stoner show and half kids adventure show.

THANK YOU! I was going to say the exact same thing! That show was amazing. And evidently, there's going to be a movie next year.

Just google Samurai Jack movie. but to save you the trouble, here's a link that has tons more sources.

Nickelodeon sucks....
Cartoonnetwork sucks now without Toonami...
Boomerang was only good back when...

Why are cartoon places doing reality crap. Not even good reality crap. Disney has been doing sitcoms and reality shows for a while now that have alway sort of sucked, and I haven't watched that channel since I was twelve. I quit watching stuff and mostly read now, or I play video games.... or write...

Dude, I watched that new show Adventure Time, and I couldn't stop laughing.
That show has some serious promise as a new kids' show.

I haven't watched Batman: Brave and the Bold, or The Batman, but if JLA is any indication, these shows might do it for me.
Please, for the love of God, do not watch either, ESPECIALLY if you are using JLA as your standard. The new Batman shows are a slap in the face compared to the glory of what it once was. Everything about both is God awful, in my personal opinion, and it saddens me that these shows are going to be the lasting image of Batman for the next generation.

OT: Spongebob is still delightful after 10 years, as was most anything on Cartoon Network before they started showing all of these acid-laced cartoons like Flapjack. What the hell's up with that creepy-ass giant baby on that island!?

Does anyone else find iCarly somehow watchable? I don't know why, it fills me with joy at the same time it annoys me, but the joy overrules the annoyance.
