So, I own a 360 (Dead for a year), so then I got a ps3, and I've always had a PC.
So, Until I got my PC upgraded, the 360 was the primary gaming, but after I did, It just went to collect dust, the PC were just so much better to use in my opinion, It looked better, it played better (Well, had to go get one of those flightsticks to play sturmovik), I didnt even bother to sent the 360 for repairs when it broke ;)

Still play the PS3 from time to time, but, well, the PC has the Internets, and Darkwind, sweet sweet dark wind...
Sometimes, I wonder why I got myself a gaming rig, when I spend most of my time playing... that...

PC elitist... well, they are not worse than console fanboys... and definitely not as bad as MW fanboys

Hey PS3 n00bs, I was gaming on Monday, were you? Didn't think so.
What the hell does that even mean? He was gaming on monday and the console gamers weren't? What?[/quote]

He's referring to the PS3 clock glitch that rendered a lot of PS3s unplayable on monday.

EDIT: whoops, broke the quote box. I can't find the post I just quoted...sorry

Meh. PCs have their advantages and their disadvantages.

For me the biggest disadvantage of a PC is still that you never know for certain whether the PC game you just bought will run on your PC, whereas if you buy a Wii game you know for sure it'll run on your Wii, idem ditto for PS3 and XBox 360.

The biggest advantage is the sheer number of games that are available for this platform, and even though there are games exclusive to the consoles, there are many more games exclusive to the PC.

Online there's not really a difference. You have noobs, leets and pros everywhere.

I agree with this. Also, Mods are a very good thing that is (UT3 on the PS3 excluded) entirely a PC exclusive thing (AFAIK, correct me if I'm wrong). Buy one game (for example, Half Life 2), and there's tens (or in the case of HL2, hundreds) of new games and different ways to play that game. Shame that a growing number of developers seem to dislike allowing modding of their games these days (*cough*MW2*cough*).

Wow the creator managed to write three paragraphs without a single point or coherent sentence. It would be funny if it wasn't so idiotic. I probably would play on my PC but seeing as games these days require several consoles worth of equipment and multiplayer is so hard to set up I'll stick to the consoles.

If you're wondering how bad my computer is I recently had frame-rate problems while the processor tried to show an epic battle. I was playing Age of Empires 2.

That's actually a consequence of it being an old game most likely. Even though my computer more or less blows AOE2's system requirements out of the water the game is more or less, old. It makes my computer that has no issue running supcom and COH and medium settings hiccup.

The only drawback to PC gaming is the price- the keyboard and mouse out do controllers for almost every genre of games, and really only racing games find them more or less stumped.

The drawbacks for consoles are many and vast.

I prefer joystick controllers for any sort of movement/platforming as in God of War or Mario Bros type stuff. Keyboards are great for the available key bindings but they have no precision. I'd like to hear what you mean by the many and vast drawbacks of consoles tho...?

I think the best and only really decent argument about the benefit of PCs is user modding of games to make them better or to make all new "versions" as seen with HL2 and CS. That's cool. I tried my hand at the editors Fear and Loathing for Myth and it's really cool all the things you can do but now PC has all this DRM crap going on and it's really hurting that one big advantage. Other than that, you can try arguing a computer can "do more stuff than consoles" but I mean really, everyone on this forum has a PC that can do all these things. So specifically gaming rigs then have about 3 advantages - capacity for better graphics (arguably of nill importance), the ability to mod games (which is getting cut out by DRM), and having the mouse/keyboard set up plus other available peripherals (joysticks, force feedback wheels, console-esq controllers). These are good things but consoles have their advantages too - smaller investment, games are guaranteed to be plug and play, portability...

They're fairly equal but sure, I'll conceed PC is slightly better overall - but that's not a reason for elitism.

Elitism is just like Nationalism in it's rationality and usefulness to anyone.

Einstein's words: "[Elitism] is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind."

I don't judge other gamers for their platform choices, but for their game tastes. I believe that is a far more accurate way of determining if someone is beneath you.

At the end of the day fanboys/elitists/whatever are arguing about how they think that their box of circuits and wires is better than the other guys box of circuits and wires. Quite frankly I think anyone that petty should be removed from the gene pool.

I hate it, it's just as bad as the console wars (which, ironically, alot of them make fun of), and this site is loaded with 'em (although it's still better than most places on the internet).

I'm a pc and console gamer, and it's difficult not to realize the stupidity of what some people say when you've actually played both.
I couldn't had said it better than myself XD.

we can't do that. the marketing/advertising companies of the world will be out of business if that sin were ever kicked out of the human race.

I have a pretty nice gaming computer and I don't think I will ever have the heart to spare 300 bucks for a PS3 or XBox for a variety of reasons.

- MMOs, they don't exist on consoles.
- Controls, I simply can't imagine playing a pacey FPS without my trusty, fast and pinpoint accurate mouse. Clumsy controls make games artificially harder.
- The community. The PC allows you to modify your games in a myriad of ways: custom models, player made weapons and vehicles, maps. So many games have started off as a modification of another older game ( for example, Counter Strike was originally a player made mod for Half Life 1 ).
- Graphics. Crysis, that is all.
- Last, but not least, upgradablity. You can't open your PS3 and stick a new processor and a graphics card in it, after 3 years your console is obsolete.

I don't wish to offend any console owners, many of my friends have one and I completely respect their choice. In the end though, PCs are a little more tweakable and "hardcore" so to speak. Consoles are more for getting home from late school and shooting some locusts in the face to relax.

no offense, i'd love, love to see you beat me in tps or racing or fighting games on the pc vs. me and my controller.

and what drawbacks are you talking about...? the only drawback i really see is no modding really, it is possible but a pain, and if you like mmo's those are basically non existant besides a few, such as ffxi or star ocean
