You, just as most of us already have, just realized that you are in a world surrounded by immature douche bags. Make yourself comfortable, you're in for a life full of childish pricks, who for some reason always get all the pussy. Try to a) ignore them, b) fit in.

Ok, that was a bit overacting, but still most people have not realized certain things about their lives. Or they just like acting immature.

Anyone else get this problem? I'm 13 and almost everyone my age isn't mature enough to really do ANYTHING with, I spend most of my social interaction time hanging out with my older brothers friends and people online (Ventrilo), anyone else have to happen to them?
Welcome to the teenage years, the hell that is where you are both adult and child but can't really do either.

See it is natural for people your age to want to aspire to do greater (more mature) things and no longer want to be "just a kid" but the thing is you may WANT to be mature but maturity is not just about what you want but what you are capable of. A 13 year old just isn't equipped to actually be as mature as they want to be, that is why being a teenager sucks so much.

Teenagers want to drive, smoke, be independent and do all the things adults do but the problem is that they are essentially still children, still at a state very open to learning new things... at the same time very easily led astray.

My advice, just hold onto that desire for maturity but realise that you aren't really going to get it till you are 18. Your aim should be to better yourself and ready yourself but accept that you really are still a kid.

Humans are quite unique amongst almost all the other species of having this prolonged stage of gradual puberty, Five Long Years for it to truly be complete, I think this is precisely because so much is required of an adult human in terms of individual responsibility, they need this long stage to prepare them for adulthood and maturity.

Oh look people full of ego thinking their so much more mature than everyone else.
Not really... I thought I was more mature than most of the adults I know before I came here.

Now I feel more mature than about a third.

People here are generally more mature than many others, so we will feel isolated

Congratulations.

You're a judgemental cynic.

You'll find that believing that you're better than everyone around you will lead you to a very fulfilling future.

Funny thing is I used to think that way too, through my teens. Then I just started acting a bit daft or "immature", like my freinds and suddenly they didn't seem so immature and I had a lot more fun.

Im a student and as a result specialise in abject stupidity for comic effect, one time I climed a statue to crown it with a traffic cone. A few weeks later I tried it again with freinds and we were stopped by the police and told off.

"You should be more carefull! one of you could have been hurt falling from there"

"yea... I guess so"

"you lot students?"

"yea we live in the halls just across the road"

"get home then and consider yourselves lucky"

Even today I got told "stop spinning around on that computer chair! you are 20 for gods sake" I just laughed then said "its still more entertaining than work"

Tldr: Have fun you will be to old to enjoy yourself before you know it.

yea it really won't change im 21 and my friends act like the bar is the only place in the world to have fun. I for one hate the bar its just filled with a bunch of numbskulls that just want to fight or get laid. I swear once someone hits there 21st birthday there maturity drops.

no wonder my mom and fiance think im anti-social

I'm 13 and I have the exact same thing, also, you're 14, to be 13 you need to have been born between 31/3/2006 and 30/3/2007 unless I am mistaken, which wouldn't be surprising because I am very tired.
You'd be 3 4 or 5 in that case too tired to work out which

Stop being mature. Your only 13 once. Act your age and have fun. There's plenty of time to be mature later.

I'm 18 and I'm still not "mature". It's boring.

I don't know if I'm mature or not.
I love bouncing around, being an idiot and laughing at nothing, and I like taking things seriously, having a rational debates and sorting puzzles.

Depends on my mood, or the day of the week, I'm not sure.
same here

By anything do you mean besides smoke, fight, drink and smoke pot? Because if so, I found roughly the same thing when I was 13. Could you be more specific about what "anything" is though?

I'm almost 24, and I know a lot of people who never bothered growing up. Perpetual state of childhood. Not sure why.
Because it's fun!

Yeah, I'm 21 and most people my age act like they're 14. Only now they have the ability to legally drink themselves silly. Alcohol+ immaturity= BAD
You stole the words right out of my mouth. I thank my lucky starts ever day that I managed to find a group of mature people to hang out with. And by mature I mean, we act immature in a harmless way sometimes, but if something serious comes up we're all ears.
