Well, as certain viral images will have us believe, these people are simply practicing for their inevitable mating rituals in prison, or that's how I figure it, since 15 years ago in highschool, only troublemakers who thought that chucking rocks at moving vehicles constituted as a sport were the type to be seen doing "male pantyshots."

It was also a source of entertainment, as whenever a driver got out of his car & chased them or a woman kicked one in the knee, their pants would fall down the rest of the way.

I find the style unattractive, because they make men's legs look short. I like nice long shaved legs on a man. Ugh, body hair sickens me....

Gotta say, "Please pull up your pants good sir" would make a funny t-shirt.

I wear slightly baggy pants, but I do have a belt. I also like large shirts. They're comfy.

You could say I'm the comfy guy.

Thankfully I never had the desire to prance about like a penguin which is the way I view these waddlers but you can always make them blush, or go pale, by pointing at the boxers when their back is turned and saying in a stage whisper "Is that a streak mark!?!".

As far as I know, it was a thing that originated in US prisons.
It generally meant the person was willing to take anal for favours.
How that has evolved into a fashion style is beyond me though.

It's a fashion. Are you really trying to understand it?

I don't like it, but it's just kind of a thing. You get used to it after a while. I actually remember this was a big thing near the end of the 90s. Disappeared for a while then came back. Give it time, it will go away again.

It's a prison thing if I remember correctly and very few people did it even when it was more popular.

Some people are idiots. I could ask why women where shirts with writing across their chests, and then ***** at me when I try to read said writing. Please, someone explain that one to me.

Not seen that around here for men so much, you have women with the "whale tail" thing going on though.

I wouldn't have thought showing the top of your undies was a good look, but then people make brightly coloured undies for some reason, I guess.

I understand having loose fitting trousers that sometimes slip down a little, no problem with that at all as long as their whole ass isn't on display. What's worse are skin-tight jeans, especially on males... what the fuck are you thinking with your chicken legs and drainpipes? Don't argue practicality, you can barely even lift your leg to walk they're so restrictive. But the worst is yet to come;

No excuse

(although, in all honesty I don't give a flying fuck how people dress - I'd actually like to see more S&M clothing worn in public for example. Noticed that the escapist in general is quite quick to judge but also play the victim)

From what I understand, it started in prisons, since they don't give you belts (for obvious reasons), so the inmates pants would slip somewhat. I guess they took it further as a way to show disrespect to the wardens. And according to my mom (who works in the prisons), family members of inmates would sometimes adopt a similar style to show solidarity. Now I think teenage boys and wannabe gangsters adopted the style because of the whole disrepect thing.

Personally, I think anyone who wears their pants like that is a complete idiot, and would love to show them this picture:

Thank god my school years were spared of that 'style'. I hate it.
It started to pick up when I got out of high school. I see it here and there in University, but not in great enough number to consider it "a thing". I had mostly metal heads and nerdy jocks at my school, so fuck yeah seaking.

OP: I wear my jeans at the top of my hip bones, sometimes a little higher, and I like keeping them there. I have a pair of semi-loose pants that slip down my waist sometimes, but I always pull them up to a reasonable height. I just feel ridiculous when my underwear is showing.
Loose pants are comfortable, but I don't get how someone can be comfortable (or think they are cool) when they are walking around in what looks like clown pants.

I figure this is old, but I feel I should ask.

I am a 23 year old female, and wish to gain the knowledge of the males out there, or females who might know the inner workings of the male mind. Please enlighten me so as I might be able to better communicate and understand.

Im sure everyone has seen this fashion, and Im sure some have even participated. The need for males (perhaps females, though I find considerably less. Usually their issue is shirts that are too small or too tight of pants. Damn muffin tops...) to feature their wondrous multi-colored boxers to the world.

Due to the fact I am female I try not to feature my panties to everyone who just so happens to walk by. However perhaps I have a sense of modesty that is not the norm. Is this fashion of clothing comfortable for men? Is it really easier to hold your pants halfway down your hips? And before you put on your wardrobe do you specifically chose out the underwear you wish to feature? (Dont want your plaid boxers to go against your orange shorts right?)

These are real questions. As stated I dont wear my clothes this way, and my feminine hips wont even really allow me to (unless Im doing it wrong. This is possible). At what point does a male look at another males underwear and go "dear god that is amazing... i should do that as well. My boxers are CONSIDERABLY more manly and amazing then THAT mans. Everyone must know.".

Hey, if this really is a comfortable form of fashion I will jump on this boat and ride it! Just inform me of your insight, your experiences, or your knowledge as to why this fad exists. ;3
In prison, inmates are not allowed belts so their pants sagged. Some people wanted to look "gangsta" and let their pants sag. Some people who thought the wannabe "gangstas" were cool started to do it without knowing where it came from and the downward spiral in fashion and pants-height began.

As someone who, on most days, is wearing about two degrees away from a full suit, I have no clue why anybody would want to have their pants falling down all day. I have a really lanky frame, so finding pants that I can wear without a belt is a challenge in itself, so I'm always trying to stop my pants getting that low.
