What they really need now is a remake of Pokemon Yellow. I NEED MY PIKACHU!!!

IMO yellow is the best game in the series, simply because the random attacks by the mobs had some sort of story attached to it. And it could be played for longer because all the fights had been made harder.

I reckon they should do something like yellow again. Crystal was OK, but the fact that the only main difference in the story was that you could actually capture suicine. But they got it right when they let you go through Kanto after the Elite Four.

BTW, the pokemon should be area specific, so only gen 1+2 Pokemon in the Joto region. It follows the story more.

If this is some sort of ploy to see if I'll buy the games then they're sadly misconstrued.
Has Gamefreak's President gotten any shrapnel lodged in his brain, because I was familiar that the only good games of the series have long since passed and the gameplay additions continue to distance itself from what made the game great.

Too bad the Pokemon games have only gotten better over time.

You've got to be kidding me.
They keep on pulling the crap of releasing a half-decent game and then RE-releasing essentially the same game with arbitrary gameplay additions, and in the eyes of the current gaming standards, it has always (with exceptions to the first couple of games) been average at best.

I still agree that these were quite possibly the best of the series. Back when gimmicks weren't why we bought the games, but rather for wholesome amusement by forcing little creatures to fight each other and bet on the winner. When we were forced to meet other people with the same interests in order to trade, and when there weren't enough of the critters to fill the the inside of the sun. The kind of game that would distance yourself from the popular crowd just by having the balls to utter it's name, that's the series I miss.


But I will always be a retro gaming fanboy.

But when these games are being remade,i want PROPER updates.I personally don't want to go through the same game just with SLIGHTLY better visuals.I want to be able to go to Kanto and Hoenn this time.

Now the only other logical thing to do is recreate the Trading Card Game for the DS... adding in the 700 billion expansion sets to use.

I think the same thing, kids are getting smarter these days and even first-timers are probably bored with how every time the challenge seems to go up you get stronger so the challenge actually doesn't go up.

Don't get me wrong, I hate blacking out (or whiting out as they call it now, which is stupid), but I would love to do it more than 0 times per game, heck, even to a Jr. Trainer or something right away to show me who's boss ya know?

My Silver didn't get buggy, but my Red version always did... I beat the Elite 4 so many times the Record in the PC said I won with a level 311 Butterfree. Those were the days!

I wonder if, like the orignal Gold and Silver, if the Pokemon will look different between cartridges.

Anyway, I think remaking Silver and Gold might not be such a great idea.. Because then the next logical step would be to remake Pokemon stadium for the Wii... Or even worse, Pokemon Snap. :/

Well, it wasn't exactly bad but I wouldn't rate it as particularly good either, it was good for the time being and quite cool with the mini games.

I think it's promising. But even Fire Red and Leaf Green were different from the originals, I hope they don't stray too far from the formula.

As for the person that doesn't want them to update the graphics like they did on Fire Red and Leaf green... these remakes will be a total disappointment, because I don't think the DS is capable of the old graphics much less the developers wanting to use them.

I agree with Yellow being one of the best, I agree with the area specific thing, but I disagree with the Crystal thing. It was completely new because of the fact that you could play as a girl. And a few of the things were different when you did. And you could find more (or less) pokemon in different areas than before (some were added to an area, etc.). Sure, the Suicune thing was added to the story to make it easier but it wasn't the only difference. And I caught him just fine on the original Gold/Silver games.
