It's an absolute dead heat between GTA4 and Fable 2 (awful sequels to a couple of the best games ever) and MGS4 (Another awful entry in a series I hate). I acctualy can't vote.

I noticed a lot of people mentioned Gears 2 not being on the list. I only had two spaces left and I knew I wanted to have Brawl in there (as the undeserved top rated game of 2008 for the wii: that's from metacritic) and I also knew that Dead Space was a great cure for insomnia.

As I don't have a 360, I've had little experience with Gears 2 (just a couple of hours in one of the departments downstairs where they have a 360; while I got to see too much of fable2 - also an excellent sleep aid - at my nephew's house) but the experience that I did have with the new Gears at least lived up to what my expectations were built up to. It's at least a hell of a lot more exciting than Dead Space which (I'll admit) wasn't rated as high across the board.

By the same token Little Big Planet almost didn't make this list but then I saw that it was the second highest rated game for the PS3 last year and I didn't think it really deserved that either.
It's great to start off but good user levels are buried under poor user levels and it becomes rather repetitive too quickly. It's not a terrible game, it's just not the second best of 08. Not to mention the DLC being either free and boring or ridiculously overpriced (for what it is) and boring. It's also one of those games that doesn't transfer well with the backup utility. I'd rather have backup than trophies.

fable 2........

when i heard some bunch of kids at my school pissing their pants over this i went to my friends house and played it......

/rant on

fable 2 is the epitome of things i hate about gaming, job systems. Job systems are the most USELESS and BORING game feature EVER. when i want to play a game i want something exciting and cool, not something as repetitive as working at a bar serving drinks, or mowing the lawn.

Job systems defeat the purpose of gaming.

/rant off

I actually still do not see why No More Heroes is one this list since it was mostly given mediocre reviews, at least of the ones I read. I guess there are enough reviews out there that it is possible to find ones that agree with all view points.

Personally, my pick is for Rock Band 2. It just was not as much fun as the first one for me and lacked something in the playlist that the first one got right (World Tour is not much better, but RB 2 got, on average, higher ratings making it more overrated).

For me it's gotta be Fabe 2. Not for the game itself but for the horrible, giant let down, omg are you freakin serious? end boss fight.

I realize I am preaching to the choir here but still, a frickin music box?

Press A to win.... wtf.....

Of the games on the list that I played (didn't play F2 or DS), the one I liked least was Fallout 3. I really just couldn't get into the game. It started off promising, but having to deal with walking around all over, a leveling system that took forever, the overhyped VATS system, inability for most NPCs to separate friend from foe, I sent that back about a week after it arrived. Maybe it was because I went on a "face" route instead of the "heel" route that Yahtzee took, but it was taking far too long for me to start having fun with it.

It's a hard poll to respond to, since Fable II, No More Heroes (this was still cool), MGS4, GTAIV, and SSSB were all overrated. Oh, and I haven't played Dead Space yet, but it probably was too.

I wonder if No More Heroes has the fewest votes because so many people loved it or because so few people actually played it..

Little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. And with a pinch of column C: No More Heroes wasn't marketed like Fable 2, GTA4, etc.

Fallout 3 =[
I was so excited about it, but although i wanted to, I just couldn't enjoy it.
Bethesda shouldn't have done it, should stop working on Fallout 4, and should get Elder Scrolls 5 released ASAFP.

GTA 4. It took the fun out of the series and replaced it with gritty realism. I hate realism.

Voted MGS4. I enjoyed it, but not as much as reviews said I would.

I hate when people use the word 'overrated'. It could mean the game was praised by many even though it wasn't like that or it could be used by people who just hate the game. Either way I dislike this term and refuse to vote.

smashbrothers gets my vote.. it was only good way back on the n64. The new versions controls are terrible and the game is just not very fun to play, which is basically the only reason you should play a game.

This poll still going on?
The correct answer is Spore.

All the games listed are atleast decent or better, while Spore actually fails at being a game.
