Play "Sam & Max 104: Abe Lincoln Must Die!" (it's free on Steam) and then tell me Abe Lincoln was the greatest human ever.

I don't think he was a great man I mean he beat his kids and supposedly he was a very angry man but he did some good for America so I say he was a "Good" man

No deal, Howie! I gotta go with the caveman who first used fire to cook his meat, because as we all know, hamburgers are the greatest invention since time began.

Actually he didn't intend to get rid of slavery. At first he wanted to stop slavery from spreading to the north. Yes he didn't like slavery but he feared he would lose all support from the south if he decided to abolish it all together. Thankfully his actions caused slavery to end. I'm sure that's what he really wanted anyways. :)

Well, Abraham Lincoln IS an immortal wizard who was secretly behind every presidential decision in American history.

But I think Gandhi beats him. Why? Because being an immortal wizard does not make you a good person.

also abraham lincoln has an awesome beard which makes him very competitive but gandhi wins out just barely

Yeah, gotta love racist old dudes.

In all seriousness there is a lot of hyperbole behind the guy.

Greatest human ever? That's a long stretch considering how long humans have actually been around versus recorded history.

Abe Lincoln may have been a great man, but I doubt that he is the "greatest human who has ever lived." For all we know, Caveman # 23 (also known as Ugg Ugg the Great) could be the greatest human who ever lived.

Besides, that title belongs to a group of people. I believe you may know them as "Monty Python".

IMO best PRESIDENT. He probably hated black people as much as everyone else in that day, but I think he knew what the right thing to do was, and that was free the slaves. He went against his own judgment and went with what needed to be done for the country he was serving. I wish modern day politicians would do that instead of whatever they damn well please.

I don't think anyone is the "Greatest ever" because even the most so-called "saintly" of people, such as Gandhi or MLK, did possess some serious flaws that would make some people, once they actually found such stuff out, get turned off by them. These so-called "pure" people are not that at all, though I will admit some of them did do fairly decent things through their actions. But, I think people should be cautious when putting someone up on a pedestal, because chances are they are not as good or perfect as people make them out to be.

He wasn't the greatest human ever, but he had nice speeches, a cool hat and an impressive beard.
What more do you want?

Except for he might have been racist.
in his defense alot of people were racist back then and he needed to be to get the votes

and hell no he led a war that caused a million or so decent Americans to die. in the name of human rights.

Considering he was the first, and so far only, US president to a wrestler, (inventing the chokeslam, no less), I would give him some high marks. FDR and TR come very close though, and he certainly had his faults. He was racist, but only in the ignoriant "I'm-not-sure-they-can-measure-up" way. Can't expect everyone to be perfect. The fact was he got better over time and did the right thing for the right reason. That is what's important.
