Absolutely. How you break down your training is up to you. But the point is, you do cardio and resistance-- separate days, but you do both of them. Thats what I mean.
People tend not to get the lifestyle changing results most of them seek by just going in and doing the elliptical machine three times a week, the classic "i dont understand why im not losing weight, i go to the gym three times a week!" complaint.
My other, unrelated favorite complaint, is "I don't understand why i'm fat! Like today, all I'm eating is a salad!"
Yeah, just a salad all right; a chef's salad, with two eggs, a half pound of ham, cup of cheese, and a generous slathering of ranch dressing.
