Too lazy and I find it stupid and pointless. The most I'll do if I get fat is go jogging.

Just gonna say, i started going to an LA fitness in Mass and i love it. I worked out at home with some equipment but it never really did it for me. I didnt see any results until i went to LA fitness, got a membership and started training. Im in the best shape i've ever been in, i feel great and im working ont he beach body. My advice, get a gym membership and work it into your schedule, 30 min a day (or an hour)

Does Dance Central count? That game makes me sweat more after half an hour of boogying than jogging a mile does :O

Yup

I jog 3 times a week around my neighborhood and I have a Pomeranian that keeps me running when I walk him; little energetic bastard. Plus I try to hit a Weight Room at lease once a week with some friends but we all tend to sound like this after a while...

Yeah.... :p

I go to the gym usually around 5 times a week, i take the weekends off. Since it's been pretty recent that I've started going back to the gym i haven't SEEN results but I am getting stronger which helps keep me motivated. My reasons for going are to get in better shape, not be weak, and because I'm self-conscious. The weak thing is a big thing, it's the one insult that pisses me off every single time. Also I wants to haz six pack :p

Well, yes in fact i do, so much so i make a living from it.
I started gaming some 20 years ago and recently i became a qualified Personal Trainer :)
Im 33 now for the record.
I usually train Mon, Tues, Thur and Fri. Predominately resistance ( weights ) in 12 week blocks then do a Max rep day to calculate the weights i need to lift for strength gain. I carb load on the weekends and eat a protein diet other wise. Chicken and suppliments being my primary sources.
For 10 years i was overweight and so far in the first year of training ive averaged a 650grams per week loss in weight. (thats 1.5 pounds according to an online converter)
I weghed 83kg at age 18, had a little trip down crazy street and weighed 130kg by the age of 23. Developed hip and back problems from the increase in weight as well as relapsed into asthma which i hadnt had since being a kid.
Now after just under a year and hovering around 100kg. still with a bit to much body fat % though.

My next personal goals are to max rep 100kg on the Bench Press, Leg Press 350kg and weigh under 100kg.

I was going to start going to the gym, but they wanted a £25 starting fee, £30 induction and a tenner every time I used their facilities, my answer HELL NO! I just go swimming like twice every week and swim about a mile or so each time and do a 30 minute jog in the morning.

I use an exercise bike for an hour 4 times a week, run 3 times a week(I'm still getting used to it), and I lift weights for about 30 mins on the days I don't run. I do this stuff at home and run around the side streets near my place.

My motivations are to finally be at a healthy weight, get of my blood pressure medication, join the Marines, and hopefully to be more confident.

I'm often sort of lazy and would just sit around playing video games, however I go outside to play with my dog or run and work out in my house. I'm in decent shape, albeit a little skinny.

but I disagree that doing 100% or 100% cardio is a mistake. I do all weight-lifting and weight-training every other day and do the full cardio on the days inbetween and I'm getting pretty good results from that.
Absolutely. How you break down your training is up to you. But the point is, you do cardio and resistance-- separate days, but you do both of them. Thats what I mean.

People tend not to get the lifestyle changing results most of them seek by just going in and doing the elliptical machine three times a week, the classic "i dont understand why im not losing weight, i go to the gym three times a week!" complaint.

My other, unrelated favorite complaint, is "I don't understand why i'm fat! Like today, all I'm eating is a salad!"

Yeah, just a salad all right; a chef's salad, with two eggs, a half pound of ham, cup of cheese, and a generous slathering of ranch dressing.
Ah, my mistake. I misinterpreted what you said. And yes, I agree, people tend to want to either A) overhaul their entire life, overdo it, and then give up because they think they can't do it or B) do the absolute minimal amount and wonder why they aren't getting the amazing results in a couple days. Working out and being healthy is a lifestyle change, and needs to be done slowly with one step at a time. For those of you interested in running, you can google "couch to 5k" to get a very gentle program to get you running and fit.
