simple enough question, cat or dog? i think most people are one or the other on some level, but i'll include "both" and "neither" just in case you're unsure,

I love cats, i mean yes, dogs are loyal and friendly but i don't want "loyal" friends, i like cats because they're quirky and proud

what do you think?

CAT, CAT AND A THOUSAND TIMES CAT!

Nah, cats are really chilled and I never liked dogs. At all.
Bleh.

Cats rule, dogs drool. Low maintenance, they are laid back and quiet unlike dogs with their obnoxious barking (for no reason mostly), they don't stink up the whole house like a dog or slobber everywhere, they won't wake you up in the middle of the night because they need to go out and pee/poop (they have their litter box), fun to play with, very soft for petting (dogs always feel rough and oily to me), perfect for sitting in your lap, etc

Cats are the best pet imo

I prefer cat over to dog since I would hate to take a dog out for a walk all of the time (I more of a indoor guy).

I prefer dogs, simply because every cat I've ever known is an annoying pain in the ass.

Dogs. I mean, I work at a dog park for crying out loud.

But I voted both 'cause I like to cuddle with cats... and they have pretty eyes.

Don't mind either. Dogs are more open with their intelligence (sorry, remembering my old dog, actually my dad's, that amusingly regarded me with haughty contempt). Cats hide it more, are low maintenance, true, but seem a lot more detached. If it's my preferred breed of dog (German shepherd), then I'd definitely say dog, but otherwise, not sure.

*shrug*

I like both (and Ive had both as pets), but I do lean a bit more towards cats. It may have something to do with the fact that my parnets got a kitten just after I was born (she lived to be 19)

I have to laugh at the stereotype that lonely people get cats as they are horrible creatures that need a box to excrete in and are such a detached pet from their owner. They do what ever they want.

They don't call dogs mans best friend for no reason.

Dogs. With cats, you often don't even get the gut feeling of, "Hey, this animal appreciates that I'm taking care of it." With dogs, you never question that.

Besides, dogs are smarter.

I love cats and dogs.

Used to have a cat and we still got the dog and it was pretty fun to watch them sleep next to eachother =p

i like both, but i always feel that a dog is like having a really insecure friend. One who wants to follow you around all the time and be like "where are you going? can i come? what are you doing? what should i do? where are you going? oh god don't leave me alone!"

and yeah.... i don't need that

Felines, I'm afraid. Their apparent distain of their environment and 'intruders' in it are a constant source of mirth for me. They understand the concept of personal space (their personal space) so well and have such generosity of spirit not to be concerned by the moral quandry of considering you as one of their possessions.

Some breeds of dog however, are just astoundingly stupid; I am NOT a fan of dalmatians.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd have to say I'm a dog person. But I also have cats which I love just as much, they just aren't as affectionate towards me as my dogs are.
