While I like the idea of someone new entering the console market, but I'm not convinced the Ouya is the way to go about it.
Mostly because it the Ouya doesn't bring anything new to the table, despite its developers claiming otherwise. It's a mishmash of already existing ideas, but doesn't really seem to excel at any of them. Its games won't be up to the standards console/pc gamers are used to. It can probably do most of the things a smartphone/tablet can, including games, but without the mobility. It promises OnLive, but a modest modern pc can do that too and much more, while being only marginally harder to hook up to a tv.
It could use a gimmick to draw in people. Like I said, I like the idea, but I'm not sure it has what it takes. And I'm not forgetting its developers have yet to show anything substantial. Only promises.
I do want it to succeed, if only because its success may lead to Android gaming stepping up its game.
