I'll tell you all this: George Washington is pissed!!
American citizens have the fundamental right to freedom of speech; a freedom specifically to criticize the government and our leaders. This is bullshit! If you want to tell the President that he eats shit and fucks dead horses, you're perfectly within your rights to do so. The Constitution! Fucking read it!

Now who's making assumptions? I read it the second I clicked on this thread. Even though the FBI placed the ban, I think the Commander in Chief is in a position to lift such a ban. He failed to prevent the punishment of an innocent man. Simple as that.

You done trolling? If your best insult is you claiming that I didn't click on a link, then I'd like to take my business elsewhere.
Innocent? So the kid didn't send the email? Just an FYI, the President isn't always made aware of every stupid stunt of every kid on the planet. He's actually got better things to do than deal with a drunk frat boy.

Now, that having been said, the President still has the authority to lift the ban, and, if enough of a stink was raised about it, I'm sure he might consider...except, the kid said 'I don't care.' Well, if he doesn't care, why do you?
The E-mail was an act of stupidity. Nothing more. I agree that the president has so many better things to do. But a phone call, maybe signing a piece of paper, would hardly be asking the man a Herculean task.

The kids says he doesn't care, he himself said that and I don't care about him. I care that our government would so extremely punish a minor offense.

The problem with this is, while it seems over the top, this is sort of standard policy for anyone who threatens the President openly. Yes, the moron was drunk. However, if you're threatening the President you're going to get moved far away from him. Across the Atlantic is fair distance for a threat to national interests, right?

What if someone added Obamas email to a dozen of porn newsletters hmm ?

Would that mean extradition to US ?

Surely with the amount of pride held in 'being an american', being called unamerican must be a worse insult than just 'prick', and therefore surely Obama can now ship out and ban anyone who questioned his parentage during his pre-election period, just because he was a bit dusky and they were scared.

honestly, the amount of Obama abuse I saw from Americans before and after he became President, acting on a simple 'prick' is not doing much for UK/US relations, but then we're already seen as America's gimp, just rolling over and doing as we're told, because the only other option was joining in with Europe, and maybe having to learn some French and get some nice food.

I'm personally more offended about the treatment of Gary Mckinnon (may have got the name slightly wrong, going from memory, not google) who hacked into the pentagon, looking for information about aliens, and is now accused of being a terrorist, and they're trying to get him removed from his home in England to be tried as an equal threat with an Al Qaeda operative, where if they had any sense, they'd hire the guy to show them where all the gaping holes in their security are. The guy has Asperger's Syndrome, he's very smart, but lacking in common sense is all, there's zero malice involved, but it seems America just needs to show how big its balls are to the world instead of showing how big its brain is, which is what so much of the world would prefer to see.

I think that'd be amusing, let them extradite him, then when he gets to the airport he can go, 'I'm banned from America, so..I'll just be off home again, thanks for the ride!'

This flies against free speech. Free speech was put there solely so a resident could call the president a prick and have nothing happen to him.
'Resident' being the operative word, seems they're fine with being a 'prick' to anyone not a resident.

you wouldn't believe that I actually really like America, its just that like the UK, there's just so many utter dicks actually in seats of power.

Hey, don't be dissin' the Beck man. He just wants to bring America back to its roots, which would mean more freedom, so lay off. I am not being sarcastic with this post either. I can't wait for the midterm elections, the Tea Party is taking over dude.(Activate Flame Shield!)

On the Obama thing, yeah the guy's punishment was to harsh. Obama can't take criticism and this shows it. Oh, you called me a name, you banned!

Morne, at this rate we'll be going back and forth all night. No matter how much I love debating, I think both you and I would not appreciate fighting until the day the Sun explodes.

I understand and accept that we are of differing beliefs and I respect your position on this matter.

Agree to disagree?

Its not a debate, its an argument. You think this kid did nothing wrong, you're contradicted by reality, he points out the opposite, ergo, its an argument.

I gotta admit I didn't immediately recognise the Beck picture as he wasn't crying, because he just loves America that much :D

I still hold out hope for the day that he admit he's a character comedian like Borat who just applied for a job at Fox with this outlandish character, and can't believe they went for it and is now stuck being more and more ridiculous on a daily basis, waiting to get called out on it.

I can't even be annoyed by Glenn Beck because he amuses me.

It's been fun chattering like 12 year old girls but I've grown bored and am now going through my E-mails and listening to music. From here-on, every reply/quote to me will be answered with "That's what she said."

G'night gents.

"The Department of Homeland Security says there are about 60 reasons one can be banned from the U.S. but said it can't discuss specific cases"
Oh, well, that's fair. Kinda like making a 'NO Girlz allowd!' treehouse but not putting up a sign, and punching the girls who do enter off the tree.
Also, what did they expect with a public email address? Not everyone wants to suck Obama's manly parts, oddly enough.

Obama, never mind I give up. Believe whatever crazy ignorant thing you want. It's how the country started and it's how we will be destroyed. Let fear mongering entertainers like beck run your life, at least it makes you happy.
Wow, it always surprises me how, the words "Fear Mongering" are always thrown around Beck like that. So telling the truth about how things are and how they were, what we as Americans should strive to be, is fear mongering?

Beck is straight forward, tells it like it is. From reading his books and the sources of information where his facts come from, everything he says is true.

It was hilarious how the liberal media couldn't figure out how to react to the rally he held in D.C. in August. Only the diehard haters said stuff about it and him that was bad. Over three hundred thousand people showed up. Just think the actual numbers that there would have been if, everybody that supports him and his great message, had the available schedule time and/or money to come out to the event. I would have been there if I hadn't had my last semester of college starting up. People fear him, because he exposes them for what they are and what they are doing to America.

Intent is irrelevant, all that matters is action.
