This topic, it should be in Politics and Religion. Because it really does have to do with Politics.

Hey, don't be dissin' the Beck man. He just wants to bring America back to its roots, which would mean more freedom, so lay off. I am not being sarcastic with this post either. I can't wait for the midterm elections, the Tea Party is taking over dude.(Activate Flame Shield!)

-------

On the Obama thing, yeah the guy's punishment was to harsh. Obama can't take criticism and this shows it. Oh, you called me a name, you banned!
Obama, never mind I give up. Believe whatever crazy ignorant thing you want. It's how the country started and it's how we will be destroyed. Let fear mongering entertainers like beck run your life, at least it makes you happy.
Wow, it always surprises me how, the words "Fear Mongering" are always thrown around Beck like that. So telling the truth about how things are and how they were, what we as Americans should strive to be, is fear mongering?

Beck is straight forward, tells it like it is. From reading his books and the sources of information where his facts come from, everything he says is true.

It was hilarious how the liberal media couldn't figure out how to react to the rally he held in D.C. in August. Only the diehard haters said stuff about it and him that was bad. Over three hundred thousand people showed up. Just think the actual numbers that there would have been if, everybody that supports him and his great message, had the available schedule time and/or money to come out to the event. I would have been there if I hadn't had my last semester of college starting up. People fear him, because he exposes them for what they are and what they are doing to America.

Glenn Beck is a second rate shock jock who drank himself into a cult, then realizing he had no *other* marketable skills, decided to wring cash out of the demented, the paranoid and the politically illiterate. Sad thing is, he's laughing all the way to the bank on those morons' dime.

ok, the kid is guilty of sending an offensive potentially threatening email. fact

the importance of this has been made more overt by a perma ban, this is where i think people are getting confused, innocence is not the question, it is the relationship between crime and punishment, is it proportional within the context? that was my point, not guilty or innocent, fairness.

i can understand people getting frustrated when others re state obama this obama that and the kid was innocent, obama probably didnt have anything to do with it, the fbi seem to have acted on their own discretion as others have already stated, please try and stick to what we know from the article or provide sources for why u feel obama cannot take a joke that relate to this story.

i personally regard this as a huge over reaction, that is an opinion based on all the information i can collate and use to form my view, it is important not to blur the lines between fact (at least as far as we can support) and rampant opinion.

You're asking a bunch of twelve-year-olds on a gaming forum to divorce their political opinions and form an objective opinion, as a statistician you had to anticipate that this was more or less inevitable.

wow, now that you mention it like that, that's horrible

horrible horrible horrible

wow, the government can't punish people for saying anything, even to the president (heck ESPECIALLY to the president). You should be able to say whatever you want to the president without any fear of reprisal from the government.. might get a punch in the mouth from a "patriot", but the government should have no jurisdiction over speech.
I believe the applicable term here is "Double standard".
Also interesting:
One prez gets fired for having an affair, in his office. Another wipes his ass with his country's ideals and nothing happens.
Which president was fired over an affair again?

And the fun thing about this country is that you've got many different people with many different ideals. Bush Jr. has done more to wipe his ass with this countries ideals than Obama ever has from my perspective. COUGH PATRIOT ACT COUGH.
America: Country founded a couple hundred years ago by a group comprised mostly of socialist agnostics.

America (the people): A group that don't realize there country was founded by socialist agnostics that left countries because of religious persecution. Also were racist and misogynistic.

The fact that you think Beck stands for any of the ideals America was founded on aside from being a better-then-you Ponce shows that have you have no concept of why America was founded.

That's not totally accurate, some of the founding fathers were pragmatically mercenary with regards to the formation of new nation, I mean hell, John Hancock was practically a pirate.

He's a British citizen, not an American. He isn't being robbed of any "rights." He has no implicit "right" to enter the United States. If you email the president of a country an abusive letter, expect some sort of reply. If this guy had sent the email to the president of the Czech Republic and had been banned from entering that nation instead, there wouldn't be a tenth of the arguing over this.

Try attacking him on something that actually means something. It is hilarious how people that can't find a flaw in a man's message and words, so they look for things to attack that don't matter. Can't find a flaw, oh he was once an alcoholic, he got some religion. Yeah let's attack that because it is totally a credible argument. Come back when you can say something that is something that can rightly be attacked.

This is exactly why pot should be legal. If he'd've been stoned, he probably would've said more... Amusing things to him.

Speaking as an american, first off I didn't know you could even email the president. Second, the FBI gets carried away sometimes. So yeah.

Ironically enough I never thought Obama was a prick until reading that he did that. Hes in the most powerful position in the world, does the opinion of one drunken teenager mean that much to him?
P.S i havent done any research into this but is the presidents email address common knowledge or so easily accessible that a in a drunken stupor someone could easily find it on google? And when would obama have time to read all these emails he gets?

It is good that Beck brings passion to the Conservative cause. Okay, how is calling for changes that would give Americans more freedoms, a dictatorial state? If anybody is for a dictatorial state, it is Obama. He is destroying the private sector, trying to making everything public, that is the makings of a dictator. For one thing, forcing people to get health care. I don't know if it when through or not, but one of the parts of the health care bill, stated that if an adult didn't have health care, then they would be fined for every month they didn't have it. And look at the whole program he wants to put together that will force high school students to due a certain number of hours of community service to graduate. That is downright dictator type governing.

We don't answer to the government, the government answers to us!

On another note, Obama pushing more towards the Federal government having more power over states, telling states what they can and can't do. The Founding Fathers must be rolling in their graves on that. The Federal government was suppose to be small with limited power, compared to states. But this has been turned upside down by people like Obama.

Sweet, my country can now perma-ban people from our country without them being there. That is fucking awesome.

OT: No, not fair at all. Someone made a drunken email, if everyone was banned from a country because they emailed a regrettable email to someone while drunk, then very few of us would be able to leave our homes for fear of being found by the police and sent to space prison.

There may be a slight difference, hypothetically speaking, between drunkenly texting your ex and asking for a NSAF, and sending an email to the leader of a global power telling him or her you're going to put a mushroom tattoo on their forehead.

True, and America does have the right to do this, I'm not disputing that, it's just that it seems a bit stupid that someone sending an email that is essentially hate mail to someone who gets actual tons of hate mail daily will get someone banned from entering a country ever again. Maybe it is that it's all over a drunken email that makes this so stupid to me, however, and if it was someone spray paining it outside the White House, then I would be saying "get outta may country, *****!"

Nothing is right about that. Try a different approach against Beck that doesn't attack those these things:

On the Alcoholic thing: Means nothing, he's clean, all is forgiven. Beating it means he has willpower.
On being a Mormon: Means nothing. Has nothing to do with willpower. If it did you would have to say that about all religions, people can believe what they want. He believes in forgiveness, so that means no willpower?
The female colleague thing: There are no facts to back that up. 100% chance that that is slanderous lie.

Beck is full of character. He is kind. He is caring, especially for the grand ideals that our Founding Fathers created this country on. If you actually watched him with an open mind, you would know that everything you think about him is wrong.

If I don't comment to your reply, if you reply to this. That means that you haven't brought anything that is based in fact. I will know it is not worth my time to respond to misplaced attacks.

lol I know Amrica has always been a bit batshit insane with the safety of their President, but this is just pathetic.

It is genuinely amusing that he's been BANNED FOR LIFE, like America is a movie store that he played a prank on.

The animosity between Beck and Kelly continued to deepen. When Beck and Hattrick produced a local version of Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" for Halloween -- a recurring motif in Beck's life and career -- Kelly told a local reporter that the bit was a stupid rip-off of a syndicated gag. The slight outraged Beck, who got his revenge with what may rank as one of the cruelest bits in the history of morning radio. "A couple days after Kelly's wife, Terry, had a miscarriage, Beck called her live on the air and says, 'We hear you had a miscarriage,' " remembers Brad Miller, a former Y95 DJ and Clear Channel programmer. "When Terry said, 'Yes,' Beck proceeded to joke about how Bruce [Kelly] apparently can't do anything right -- about he can't even have a baby."
You're either an idiot or a troll, in any event:

he is meaningless noise speaking to a segment of the population that has become wholly detached from reality.
