I asked : why does it exist. Don't evade questions.

And seriously, stop throwing the word 'elitism' around, it's starting to get really annoying the third time. You're always free to present some actual arguments instead of trying to disposing arguments by saying I'm a PC elitist.

All ports do is encourage this stupid console war even more, the less "exclusives" the better.
They should leave all PC games, to PC. And all console games spread out through all of them... Well, maybe not the Wii, lol.

Yeah, it's alright. So will Battlefield 3, and there is no way the PC version will suffer from its console counterpart.

Seriously, that's not very nice of you to complain about stuff like this. The controls for Battlefield have never been that complicated.
Really? Bad Company 2, although it was meant to be a smaller game, took out so many things because it was also released on console. Prone? Nope, not enough buttons on a controller. Squads? Only 4 people now. Commander? That's impossible on consoles because console players lack teamwork skills, therefore we'll remove it!

Not to mention that when the game first came out, the controls were very sluggish and hit detection was all over the place. They patched it up all right, but still.
A lot of times when PC developers release a game exclusively for console, they overcompensate for the lack of buttons and dumb it way done. When the second game came around, it was a part of the identity of the series, not an inherent issue with console games. About the prone, they did it to try and get rid of dolphin diving, not because consoles lack the buttons. Lacking prone is not the norm on console games, look at MW2.

Also, saying that console gamers lack teamwork skills, really? Really? This is the worst part of your post, because it's implying superiority over another group of people for arbitrary reasons, and it's not true.

The funniest thing about it being ported to consoles is that console players having played BFBC 1 and BFBC 2 will think BF3 is the next game when it is very different game...I just know someone is gonna make that mistake.

Yeah, I think I stated that difference in my EDIT for the original post. Yeah it is expected lol.

I'm not the guy you go to asking that, but there's one thing to note - to outperform a console you don't need a beast of a PC. For some comparison, though, I'll say this. Over here, electronics are overpriced as shit - a PS3 costs around 600 bucks, games over a hundred. With 500 bucks, I can buy a pre-made PC right here that has something along the lines of a dual core processor, 2gb/4gb ram and a 9xxx series Nvidia graphics card, which, while by PC standards is pretty mediocre/crappy, blows console graphics or just overall technical capacity out of the water. Now, buying yourself is cheaper, so my advice would be to just go to whatever site it you use in your country and just see the prices of low-end versions of any of the newer generation parts.
okay I will admit, you can aim faster and more percise with a mouse but does that mean the player is better? No, it doesn't the mouse gives them an advantage over the competition, so its not skill its like take for example:

In an MMO, two players both the same level and same class, but one of them easily defeats the other due to a better weapon but if they both had the same weapon they would be of even ground.

Why should I care? I'm happy to see what looks to be a good game made enjoyable for more people. I think platform exclusives are stupid, personally. I may be a PC gamer, but that doesn't mean I want to see console players deprived, and frankly I find doing so appallingly elitist.
A good game that would than likely be better(objectively)if it was being exclusively made for pc...I'm not sure that it's elitist to want a better game. I know I've played my fair share of shooters on pc that felt decidedly console-y.

I thought this said "Battlefront 3" at first..i was like WHAT! O_O

Anyways, it is sad to see less exclusives on the PC now a days, the only exclusives that seem to come out now are RTS's because of obvious reasons =\

But it doesn't affect me much as i only play RTS games on my PC anyway (well except for Kotor 1-2)

I haven't even played Battlefield 2 yet =\ i need to catch up.

To those of you who're saying things like "just because it's going to be on console doesn't mean it'll ruin the PC version" I would ask you to look at games like Deus Ex: Invisible War. The original was one of the greatest games of all time. But when the sequel was released it was so dumbed down for the console port that it ruined the game. That's just one of many examples of why this sort of fear exists in PC gamers.

There is of course no reason for there to be any fear as long as the company makes the game just as quality as they would if it weren't going to be ported.

PC gamers are the more skilled and hardcore, but consoles are so much cheaper and easier to just pick up and play. It's not hard to figure out why PC gaming is dying; most can't afford it or don't want to pay for a computer that can handle current gen games.
You mean have too short of attention spans to even bother looking the way of PCs because they may require you to build it yourself if you want a cheap beast. Because really, to outperform a console, you can buy a PC like that for less than the console costs, not to mention all the stuff you can do on a PC as opposed to the inferior platform.

By the way, Korten12, a question for you. Why do you think such a thing as auto-aim exists if the control schemes are identical in their convenience/precision?
Because developers underestimate console players? The reason people think mice are more precise is because they use computers more of their life, and to shoot someone all you have to do is click on them.

So joysticks take more getting used to, yes, but movement is more intuitive, and racing games are much better on console, unless you have one of those wheel things.

well they say they are making it using the frost bite 2 as opposed to 1.5 it will no longer support dx 9 and XP and it's being made with pc in mind

So heres' hoping that its bigger then bf2 and less buggy then starship troopers (te-he)

Yes it should be exclusive. Yes, it should. A thousand times yes, yes and yes again.

But of course they have to accomodate everyone and never take risks. I'm gonna miss commander and 64 player matches.[footnote]Ok, that's not risks, that's Battlefield 2 with the Frostbite engine but that's enough for me.[/footnote]

Is that when people in a middle of a fire fight just drop down to the ground real fast and get as easy kill? I hate it when ppl do that.
Yeah, but the kicker in BF2 is it's essentially instant.

Oh that's what it's called. I used to call it super-bunny-hopping.
Yup, that's it.

The main issue with BC2 was that instead of fixing it, they just removed prone altogether. The Dolphin-diving was annoying as fuck. And cheap. But, they should have fixed it, it feels wierd not being able to go prone, especially as a sniper across a map.

I want to see a PC version, a Mac version, a PS3 version, a 360 version, a Wii version, a PSP version, a GameBoy version, and a version for the Atari 2600. Bring it!

Let EVERYONE play a version of it, and make each a little different, so I can get a slightly different experience by laying it on my PC or 360.

Coming from strictly PC gaming my entire life, it is sad to see that pc gaming is slowly dying out.
Not dying, being diluted. Important distinction.
