Why would it be a problem if consoles get BF3? From a financial point of view, DICE would be better off selling it on multiple platforms than just to PC, that's just obvious. More customers = more money.

I rarely play "new" games on the PC. Dont get me wrong, I shelled out a fortune for a PC that can play them. Its just that I've always had a better experience playing on Live (I know this will sound insane to some people, but the PC community is just as crappy as the Live one in my experience.)

If its on the 360, I'll get it on the 360. Its just more fun (imo).

Also, I noticed people complaining about things like the commander being removed, and no prone. It's simply down to hardware limitations on consoles. Being the commander like on BF2 on a console would be fiddly, and wouldn't really work. As far as I knew, prone was in Bad Company 2 on the PC. Not on consoles, simply because the graphics wouldn't be good enough for people to see enemies prone from any sort of distance.

Having Battlefield on consoles AS WELL as PC isn't a problem. Well, to me at least, because I'm not a PC elitist.

I want to see a PC version, a Mac version, a PS3 version, a 360 version, a Wii version, a PSP version, a GameBoy version, and a version for the Atari 2600. Bring it!
woah woah woah... thats going a bit far. XD jk.
You're right, I WAS being a bit ridiculous. Who could ever think that a Mac version would be a good idea... sorry.

You, you, you, you mean that gamings an actual business, and all anyone really wants is money, and the only reason they would have a niche market is because they would be more willing to spend more money on it! Shocking. Just fucking amazing. I never realized that when people pirate something they expect the makers to just take being railed out of several million dollars and being like "We love PC gaming!"

They could take the route that valve did with TF2 and barely support the console versions of the game and support the PC version of the game with content out the ass. DICE supports the console versions of Bad Company 2 more then they do the PC version (well at least from what i have seen) so they prolly are going to do the other way around on BF3. At least that's what I think.

To those of you who're saying things like "just because it's going to be on console doesn't mean it'll ruin the PC version" I would ask you to look at games like Deus Ex: Invisible War. The original was one of the greatest games of all time. But when the sequel was released it was so dumbed down for the console port that it ruined the game. That's just one of many examples of why this sort of fear exists in PC gamers.
Deus Ex 2 isn't a good example. Warren Spector himself has stated that the oversimplifications were his fault and it was early days in cross-platform development so a lot of the assumptions they went in with proved to be... erroneous.

If they're porting from PC to console it shouldn't be a problem. Going the other way would make me hesitant about the final product because far too many lazy devs (or possibly time crunched devs, if we're feeling generous) porting from console to PC do such a shitty, shitty job of it.

i think that PC fanboys are the most pompous and ignorant people just because they can afford a £2000 machine. they think that just because we own a console we are automatically a lower class, immature idiot. just because a game is on a console makes no difference apart from the system you play it on. i dont see why all gamers cant just unite PS3, Xbox or PC with our mutual wii hatred

Considering my chances of getting a computer that would be able to run battlefield 3 before 2019 are slim to non I would love a port.

You quite obviously know near to nothing on why PC is better.

Im pretty annoyed by this, i tried the first Bad Company on xbox and it made me hate the game so much. It was full of clunky controls and incredible lag, once i got Bad Company 2 on pc however all my problems were solved.

Honestly if this is console exclusive i reckon it will be a worse game.

I'm basing this on experience, not blind console hatred.

I'm all for console gamers getting Battlefield games, but modifying the game to fit consoles just simplifies it too much. Console gamers can have Bad Company, but don't take my core series away from me.

Woops..
Ok i read the posts properly, my bad, im hungry and tired.

I can't see anything wrong with a console port, just make sure the controls are fluid and usable, and that anyone playing from overseas has a matchmaking preferences option.

I'm a console gamer, and even I think the core Battlefield games should be PC exclusive. Battlefield 2 would just not have worked on consoles at its time (and damn, they tried twice on the original Xbox and later the Xbox 360).

Computers are in their generation ahead of the current gen systems. Let them have their fun where its due. Bad Company 2 is a fine game and is a good representative of what a console Battlefield experience should be.
