Chaos Theory bro. That game was the last and greatest Splinter Cell as far as I'm concerned.
Wow I was gonna comment but you summed up my sentiment pretty good lol. Double agent never existed....... But yeah CT was incredible, I love every second of it (other than first 2 missions)

Hitman has some complex elaborate methods, Blood Money you could go more postal but the games still require skill to get good rankings

Splinter Cell is a goddamn abomination. Worst game I've ever played is Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
I've heard you say this a lot, but never give a god damned reason. What's so bad about Splinter Cell? Too much competition for your precious PS exclusive Metal Gear?
I've played the first 2 games and I just couldn't bring myself to finish that one.

Understandable. I'm fine with people who just dislike the game, but I have a problem with people like Dingo who, already known for fanboyism, say that the series is horrible without ever giving a reason why.

Metal Gear. It made the stealth genre. And I whole-heartedly disagree with Yathzee and others who say the Theif series is the only series to have ever done stealth well.

Quiet, fanboy. Don't bring the console wars into this.
I'm not. I'm just pointing out that he's a well documented Sony Fanboy, and I really wouldn't be surprised if that was his reasoning after some of the things I've seen him say.

EDIT:Seriously, go back to his post which I quoted. Do you think it's a coincidence that the only stealth games he likes (MGS and Sly Cooper) are both PS Exclusives?
You remember where I said that Sly Cooper fails as a stealth game, and that Hitman: Blood Money remains one of the greatest games of all time, jockeying at many points for position as my favourite game?
I came off as more argumentative than I intended and for that I apologize. You still haven't given me a reason that you don't like Splinter Cell though, other than the one you edited away. I guess I'll address that one; the propaganda in the SC games is rather grating, I'll admit that. However, the gameplay itself is actually a lot of fun if you ignore said propaganda.

EDIT:Alright, you edited your post to give reasons, I'll edit in a sec once I see your arguments

EDIT2:At this point, it's clearly just a matter of opinion. Wanna leave it at that?

Like I edited in, no, it isn't. You cannot control it.
I didn't have a problem with it. Look, this is very clearly becoming just a matter of opinion, and I don't think either of us is going to convince the other. Agree to disagree?

Although I'm not very good at it, I'd say the Thief series. In my opinion, withouth the Thief series there wouldn't be any Assassin's Creed. And I can't imagine a world without Assassin's Creed.

I would say Metal Gear Solid, but the guards all seem to suffer from incredible Thick-itis, which kinda takes away from the great feeling of sneaking everywere, cuz deep down you know if they even had a little bit of higher brain function you'd be dead seventeen which ways.
Still love Metal Gear mind. ^^

Huge fan of Hitman. You really got to be creative :)
Oh totally. I love that series. I've played every single one since the first! Not many have played 'Codename: 47', but it was sweet. The first game that I remember having ragdoll physics.

So yeah. I vote Hitman.
I was going to choose Splinter Cell, since that is also an excellent series, but once I saw Hitman...I knew what the right choice was.

While I love the Thief series, the Splinter Cell series (Chaos Theory in particular) feels more rounded. The sheer amount of movements and options, which I think are crucial for stealth, available to Sam Fisher are staggering.

My best one? Gregory Horror Show, because of how crazy it is and how challenging it can be because your character's totally defenceless.

The first Metal Gear and Hitman are the best that I have played. As for favorite I have to say Sly Cooper. It was just so much fun.

I voted Other.

Other being Crysis, before the Aliens arrive. Sure the AI is dumber than a bag of bricks but I had alot of fun because of that. Sneaking up into a camp trying to "MAXIMUM POWER!" punch guys in the back of the head without alerting the others. And if someone sees me after I punch someones dome. I go stealth and hide in a bush or under a trailer then punch them in the head when they turn around.

Good times.

I've played near all the ones in this poll, and I loved Thief the most stealth-wise. Loved the whole light detection system of being in the shadows and such.

The original Splinter Cell was one of my favourite games on the PS2.

So Splinter Cell it is.
