Elder Scrolls 5 is steadily approaching? really because they haven't even announced it or teased it.

But I don't have bethesda syndrome because I've only changed charectors because they suck.

oblivion 400+ hours across about 15+ charectors

Fallout 3 90+ hours with 2 characters (the first one sucked)

although it did take me a bit to long to beat oblivion I bought it in 2006 but finally beat it about last February. Fallout 3 took me a week and about 17 hours to beat the story.

See I like my character flaws, there what make my character unique and fun. Just like a real person, and when an NPC that i like dies, i mourn them like i would mourn any other loved one and get on with my game.....god i think im sicker than you....i think im suffering from blizzardia....where you spend your life in a game living your life....oh god!!!

I've "suffered" from Bethesda Syndrome in Fallout 3. Because I didn't finish some of the quests, I just did the main story.

Now, I recently restarted for a thrid time because I needed some karma acheivements. Yes I am a acheviement WHORE!

I don't, not really, but I did restart the Elder Scrolls IV for a glitch on the final Thieve's Guil quest. Basically, I'm an achievement whore and when setting out to complete something I make sure I do it. Hence when I found that because of one glitch I was unable to
steal the Elder Scroll from the palace
in the final Guild quest, I restarted. I've since achieved that and have finished the Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood, so all is well :).

I haven't played Fallout 3 either, but I'd probably do the same there on a quest if I had to.
Did you jump down the hole and break the boots of spring-heeled jack without stealing the elder scroll? Thats what I did. It made me sad. :(

I answered yes to all of those. Oblivion is the first game I bought for 360 and I have yet to beat it or even finish all of a guild's (or brotherhood's) quests. I have restarted numerous times and spent hours on each one fine tuning, researching, and deciding on stats. I micromanage every little stat increase so I can that glorious +5 to my attributes. So much so that it almost takes the enjoyment out of the game. The most annoying part is that I always forget to save right before I exit the sewers, so I have to go through that annoying intro every time I restart.

I have beaten Fallout 3 as a good character, but I find myself continually restarting now that I am working on an evil character.

I don't understand how I got this disorder. I used to play Morrowind for pure enjoyment, without the need to maximize my character's ability.

I've just given up on Fallout 3 for a while, too many good mods that require a restart of the game to play.

I have restarted a few times, always because of Character creation issues... I love customisation and want all of it rolled into one... I just try and find the most acceptable compromise.

Actually, Bethesda Syndrome just involves games being unusually long and typically very open-ended. Most games are immune, but a fair few get infected.

Talk to your doctor about Bethesda Syndrome today- because not every disease has to be a a malignant one.

AAHH!! My wood elf was soooo ugly! And I didn't know that they were a head shorter than the other character!

Cries*

I still finished everything with him, but he sure as hell kept that helmet on. Made other characters, but kept the wood elf for the dark brotherhood quest line.

I'm making an orc next...

Oblivion kind of bored me, but fallout 3 is my favourite game. I've only made three characters, but I always play through thoroughly and finish the game before creating a new character. I have never EVER restarted over a minor detail. I'm always happy with my choices. Except for once, in fallout 3. I thought my second character had cheeks that bulged out too much, so I just paid a visit to Horace Pinkerton, and for a small fee he gave me a new face.

I think part of the syndrome may be "I've spent more time downloading/installing mods than I have playing the game"...

And yes, My name is Lord_Jaroh and I am a Bethesdaholic...

Yep. I stupidly hit a Monk and ended up with the entire might of the Blind Moth Priests and the Imperial Guard on me, so I had to make a hasty exit. I couldn't return afterwards because all ways were sealed. Happily I was able to complete it after I restarted and did the whole thing again :)

I haven't completed Elder Scrolls yet but that's primarily because;

First time I played through I lost interest
Second time I had decided to add an Oblivion over haul mod and over time I added more and more mods. I again got distracted by something else and came back to continue my game only to find that despite changing nothing since the last time I played the game it now refuses point blank to boot the game with the correct texture and graphical settings, something I can;t change since I have fast exit installed and all my save games have pretty much gone tits up and cause instant CTD upon load.

I am umming and aghhhing I decided to uninstall and restart but have yet to reinstall the game, I am umming and agghing over weather to, reinstall, add mods and start over, wait for 7 to come out and again start from scratch or pull my backup drive and see if I can copy the data over and get the save games from there to work.

I guess the amount of work you need to do to get their games the way you want them is symptomatic of a problem...

Looks like I have a clear case of Bethesda Syndrome. The symptom of restarting the game because I didn't like the look of my character is particularly true, unfortunately.

On one occasion I wanted to play as a veteran wizard type character. So I spent a while making a grizzled old guy who I thought looked great. I came back to play as him next day, when I realized he looked more like a dirty old pedophile. Deleted that save soon after.

I'm a minor case. I tend to start several characters in most RPGs I play just to figure out how everything works and to decide what I want to play. As for Bethesda games, I finished Fallout 3 despite a few restarts. I haven't finished Oblivion, but that's mostly because it sucked, not because of the constant restarting.

I used to suffer from a condition called Oblivion Syndrome, which while inspired from the same source was hugely different. When I suffered from Oblivion Syndrome, I became disillusioned with the outside world and shut myself away. I also suffered from depression and anxiety. I needed an escape. I needed a world I could really immerse myself in, a world which better than the world I lived in, a world where I ruled. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion filled that void perfectly.

I have never restarted a game because of anything aesthetic.

Nope.

Finished everything in Fallout 3... every quest, every location unlocked (including Vault 87 overground), every bobblehead and unique weapon found, every DLC finished...

Then started a new character and did it all again.

Never found everything in Oblivion. Ayleid ruins got boring after a 20 or so dungeons...

But finished main quest, most side quests and 2 add ons.

I have a much rarer version. I have Bethesda modder's syndrome. Why can't I leave Morrowind alone?! I know I'm not going to play it when I'm done modding! Will I ever actually be done modding?! One more mod can't hurt?! Right? RIGHT?!
