They will make hyped up games ONLY for Kinect. So people will be forced to buy it just to play a gamemrpmpfan said:What?Judgement101 said:No, kinect WILL hurt the 360 though. mrpmpfan said:Thats why they released the Virtual Boy, GBA Micro, N64 and Gamecube....they totally know what they are doing.OmegaXzors said:No, as Kinect is a device that Nintendo rejected when making the Wii. Nintendo knows what they're doing.
Ah, so you're basically saying that casual consumers who didn't already buy a wii due to some problems with the motion control and yet still have an interest in motion control gaming would buy the 360+kinect.Reenix said:I didn't say Wii users who were disillusioned by the Wiimote are going to buy a 360 with Kinect. I meant that first-time casual gamers might be attracted the 360's superior specifications and (seemingly) simpler application.
I can only go on what I've seen - no-one knows what Kinect will be like when it's actually released, which is why I'm making a judgement based on personal experience.
I'm not saying that one application is better than the other (other than 360 being more powerful but that's a fact), I'm just arguing that Kinect MIGHT damage the chances of another Wii Motion boom.
Actually one of the launch titles coming out is a minigame collection made by Hudson studio. It includes paintball which plays by the player holding their hand like an imaginary gun and you pull an imaginary trigger to fire the gun. So Kinect can interepret very fine movement. Before making a blanket statement you read nowhere do some research.Chameliondude said:I think it will fall flat on its face like eyetoy, Its a party device like the wii but it can only support 2 players, and it cant interpret very fine movement so you cant play games which require precision shooting or aiming without over the top motion as it definatly cant recognise my index finger moving an eighth of an inch back and forward to fire every time, and that stupid voice recognition thing, id definatly turn it straight off, as it would probily interpret conversation during a movie as input.
Not worth $150 by any stretch of the imagination thats $75 each for 2 players, "its fine my other friends, you can watch for now..."
How was either system "great"? The Gamecube got crushed by PS2 and Xbox because it was the underpowered darling with no DVD player or hardcore titles. The N64 had a few hit titles but once again was using poor technology (aka cartridges) where eventually they required an additional piece to update it to play 3 games...Perfect Dark, Rouge Squadron, and Donkey Kong 64.Slyjay88 said:Erm the N64 and Gamecube were great, even the GBA micro was quite good :S. I'll let you off with the Virtual Boy though, that was truly terrible.
You say this but defend that shitty Star Wars rail game? The Move has much more poentaila because it incorparates a camera (like Kinect) and a motion control (like the Wii). It can track movement like the Kinect as well as allowin devs to make good looking fun games like Socery.mrpmpfan said:Because you have seen 15 launch titles you automatically write it off as a casual players device only. Star Wars looks great and I am sure other titles are to follow. Move is basically identical to Wii except looks even more lame (since it looks like a dildo).migo said:I think the Move will have more of an effect. It's cheaper than the Kinect to start, and has a lot more potential, as well as bridging the gap between casual and hardcore. Kinect is set on casual only, and the snags it has make it pretty unviable. No hardcore game, unless you count hardcore DDR players, will work well on Kinect.
One? Why limit myself!mrpmpfan said:Yes because Price is Right on the Wii is completely not shovelware. Dude almost every 3rd party title on the Wii is shovelware.AugustFall said:No, anyone who wants the motion experience has a Wii already and anyone in the future is going to take it over the Kinect due to price (need to just by the Wii rather than xbox and the kinect) and the actual decent games on the Wii opposed to a bunch of shovelware on the kinect.
In essence what I'm saying is no one will pick the Kinect over the Wii. Maybe a few people will have both but the Kinect will fail just like the Move.
Please name me one title that is shovelware for Kinect launch?
Umm shitty? It looked pretty bad ass to me and to everyone else in the crowd at E3. Move has the potential to be the Wii in HD...which isn't a compliment. It looks identical in operation. If you want to play with a colorful dildo and a joystick be my guest but I have great faith in what Microsoft will do with Kinect.IamSofaKingRaw said:You say this but defend that shitty Star Wars rail game? Kinect Adventures has solid build quality and the games are fun to play with friends. It can even be used as a good workout by yourself. This game also comes free with the system.IamSofaKingRaw said:One? Why limit myself!
Kinect Adventures
Kinect Sports
Star Wars game
Im sure Microsoft will release many more games of this caliber in the times to come. (Just because I didn't list dance central or Kinectamals doesn't mean they are any good. How much time are you going to spend playing those mini games?)
The gamecube only lasted 6 years. Xbox 1 lasted only 5 years. The difference? Xbox 360 came out with HD graphics and beefed up inards and ushered in next gen gaming. Wii came out with identical graphics and wiggle controls.Mexicoho19 said:Congratulations, you're an individual, Because your the only person who thinks that.
And if you do reply, don't mention Kinect OR the 360.
