I don't think so, but I'm going with "maybe" because I was one of the people who said that there was no way that the Wii would go mainstream.

I just don't understand the wants of casual gamers, so I can't say for sure.

You see, Nintendo is the Twilight of gaming, it's not quite as popular as the Xbox or Playstation, but there is a group of people that absolutely love it and therefore it is popular and keeps its sales high.

Nothing Microsoft brings out will be able to tarnish Nintendo because the people who like the Wii generally don't give two shits about what the other companies are doing.

In the end, Nintendo will not be taken down by Move or Kinnect because the community will always be there to back Nintendo up.

if kinect came out earlier then ya it would have been competition for the wii. but now the wii has already been established as the "motion sensing, super happy family fun consol" and itll take alot to change that impression people have over the wii and move over to kinect. personally i dont like motion control whatsoever

No, kinect WILL hurt the 360 though. They are going to addapt games for it and then people will go to the PS3 because they don't want to buy the Kinect to play Fable III or whatever.

What?

Please add more discussion value in response to other people's comments than just one word.

It might hurt Wii a little bit but the Kinect is too expensive to really take off and most people interested in motion sensors already have a Wii anyway

What?
They will make hyped up games ONLY for Kinect. So people will be forced to buy it just to play a game

No, as Kinect is a device that Nintendo rejected when making the Wii. Nintendo knows what they're doing.
Thats why they released the Virtual Boy, GBA Micro, N64 and Gamecube....they totally know what they are doing.

Erm the N64 and Gamecube were great, even the GBA micro was quite good :S. I'll let you off with the Virtual Boy though, that was truly terrible.

I think it will fall flat on its face like eyetoy, Its a party device like the wii but it can only support 2 players, and it cant interpret very fine movement so you cant play games which require precision shooting or aiming without over the top motion as it definatly cant recognise my index finger moving an eighth of an inch back and forward to fire every time, and that stupid voice recognition thing, id definatly turn it straight off, as it would probily interpret conversation during a movie as input.

Not worth $150 by any stretch of the imagination thats $75 each for 2 players, "its fine my other friends, you can watch for now..."

I didn't say Wii users who were disillusioned by the Wiimote are going to buy a 360 with Kinect. I meant that first-time casual gamers might be attracted the 360's superior specifications and (seemingly) simpler application.

I can only go on what I've seen - no-one knows what Kinect will be like when it's actually released, which is why I'm making a judgement based on personal experience.

I'm not saying that one application is better than the other (other than 360 being more powerful but that's a fact), I'm just arguing that Kinect MIGHT damage the chances of another Wii Motion boom.
Ah, so you're basically saying that casual consumers who didn't already buy a wii due to some problems with the motion control and yet still have an interest in motion control gaming would buy the 360+kinect.

I certainly don't agree with you but its a fair opinion, though I will say I don't know anyone who believes there's going to be another Wii Motion boom one way or the other.

Actually one of the launch titles coming out is a minigame collection made by Hudson studio. It includes paintball which plays by the player holding their hand like an imaginary gun and you pull an imaginary trigger to fire the gun. So Kinect can interepret very fine movement. Before making a blanket statement you read nowhere do some research.

How was either system "great"? The Gamecube got crushed by PS2 and Xbox because it was the underpowered darling with no DVD player or hardcore titles. The N64 had a few hit titles but once again was using poor technology (aka cartridges) where eventually they required an additional piece to update it to play 3 games...Perfect Dark, Rouge Squadron, and Donkey Kong 64.

Nintendo has been behind the times for a loooong time and if Mario Galaxy 2 is the best title the Wii has to offer thats sad since its a rehash at best of Mario Galaxy...

I think the Move will have more of an effect. It's cheaper than the Kinect to start, and has a lot more potential, as well as bridging the gap between casual and hardcore. Kinect is set on casual only, and the snags it has make it pretty unviable. No hardcore game, unless you count hardcore DDR players, will work well on Kinect.
Because you have seen 15 launch titles you automatically write it off as a casual players device only. Star Wars looks great and I am sure other titles are to follow. Move is basically identical to Wii except looks even more lame (since it looks like a dildo).
You say this but defend that shitty Star Wars rail game? The Move has much more poentaila because it incorparates a camera (like Kinect) and a motion control (like the Wii). It can track movement like the Kinect as well as allowin devs to make good looking fun games like Socery.

I believe Kinect is going to hurt the Wii, how could I believe otherwise. Microsoft just rolls like that. Don't even get me started on how hardcore my Zune HD is. I envision Kinect knifing the Wii as it tries to walk from the club back to it's car late one night. Kinect hidding in the shadows under a burned out street light. Crouched between two trash cans it waits for the Wii to pass, the Wii slightly drunk of its successful night fails to notice the glint of the knife as Kinect pulls it from its pocket. From there things move quick. In a dash Kinect rushes towards Wii, senses dulled Wii never even has a chance, falling to the ground in an attempt to flee, the knife streaks forward in its back. Kinect runs off leaving Wii soaking in a pool of its own blood, sweet, and tears. The knife still in its back. Confusion and pain the only things registering on it's sensors. "I thought we where friends" it's final words.

No, anyone who wants the motion experience has a Wii already and anyone in the future is going to take it over the Kinect due to price (need to just by the Wii rather than xbox and the kinect) and the actual decent games on the Wii opposed to a bunch of shovelware on the kinect.

In essence what I'm saying is no one will pick the Kinect over the Wii. Maybe a few people will have both but the Kinect will fail just like the Move.
Yes because Price is Right on the Wii is completely not shovelware. Dude almost every 3rd party title on the Wii is shovelware.

Please name me one title that is shovelware for Kinect launch?
One? Why limit myself!

Kinect Adventures
Kinect Sports
Star Wars game
Im sure Microsoft will release many more games of this caliber in the times to come. (Just because I didn't list dance central or Kinectamals doesn't mean they are any good. How much time are you going to spend playing those mini games?)

Umm shitty? It looked pretty bad ass to me and to everyone else in the crowd at E3. Move has the potential to be the Wii in HD...which isn't a compliment. It looks identical in operation. If you want to play with a colorful dildo and a joystick be my guest but I have great faith in what Microsoft will do with Kinect.

Sony didn't take Microsoft as a threat back when Xbox 1 came out and look what happened. Playstation 3 has been playing catch up every since and has lost of ton of its major exclusives.

Enjoy your Move I hope you have fun with it but Kinect will blow some minds up when stuff gets rolling with it.

Kinect Adventures has solid build quality and the games are fun to play with friends. It can even be used as a good workout by yourself. This game also comes free with the system.

Kinect Sports is made by Rare and I did play Bowling for it. It was an advancement over the Wii Bowling for sure.

Star Wars game....do you even know the definition of shovelware? Star Wars Force Unleashed for the Wii would be considered shovelware, a freshly built title for an exclusive system sounds like a great AAA title to me.

Dance Central is made by Haramonix so you know it will be fun and have some depth to it. Being Expert on this game will be difficult as hell.

Kinectamals will be the game for children, girlfriends and wifes, however its several technically advanced and even interested myself. Then again I dug Viva Pinata, lol.

So anywho, I just burned through all your complaints and I couldn't find a basis for any of them. You are saying they will release a ton of shovelware on the system like Nintendo does however you have no idea because no one knows at this point. Why? Because beyond Star Wars we have no idea whats coming out for it.

Congratulations, you're an individual, Because your the only person who thinks that.
And if you do reply, don't mention Kinect OR the 360.
The gamecube only lasted 6 years. Xbox 1 lasted only 5 years. The difference? Xbox 360 came out with HD graphics and beefed up inards and ushered in next gen gaming. Wii came out with identical graphics and wiggle controls.

N64 lasted less than 6 years and only had a handful of successful titles (Twilight Princess, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark) but had some huge bombs like Conkers Bad Fur Day, which might be one of the worst sold big titles ever.

So my opinion of Nintendo products is not unfounded.
