I'm an 18 year old Maths undergraduate in my first year of my course. I had an IQ of 135 at age 6 and joined mensa at that age. I was also in the UKMT Intelligence Championships at Manchester University for my age group when I was 14. That enough of an answer???
And yet, you insist on using three question marks.

Academic ability =/= intelligence
Absolutely true. Though people often have both, most people with great academic abilities are masters of memorization, and little else.

I think this thread has proved that we're all just a bunch of egotists.
(except for that 1 guy who said he was below average)
Make that 2 guys! You may all be smarter than me but at least I've got my ego in check!

Far from being average, I have engineered a position where I manage people more intelligent than myself!

and yet it still doesn't get me good marks nor does it get me any money OR girls
Ahh I know that kind, but i have that with people, I know exactly what people will say in conversations, it is called social intelligence, but sadly that mostly makes you more nerdy, so do not get fooled by the title ^^

I stapled a sticky note to my thumb once.

EDIT: According to the poll, 3 more of you have had a similar experience with sticky notes and thumbs. Share please!

The average intelligence is skewed by children, senile poeple, brain damaged etc. So if you are in your prime you are probably of average intelligence (i know i am) but still likely above the average for the human race. Or maybe i'm wrong. I'm only average.

EDIT: Wisest is he who knows he knows nothing. (Socrates is sexy)

I hate to sound like an ass but there are a lot of stupid people but whilst I will be the only person in my family to go uni, I have always been more musically and creatively minded, so whilst I'm not the best academic, I'm fairly logical.

Went to the Centre for Talented Youth of Ireland at age 14 based on an English SAT score of 750, but I tend to do generally idiotic stuff frequently, so it can't all be down to tests. :/

According to those tests and this class I was put in I'm "gifted".

A lot of people my age though are pretty dumb.

I don't know. In my social circles I'm probably of average intelligence, but then again I pick relatively intelligent things out from between my toes when compared to some of the knuckle dragging troglodytes I encounter in my town centre.

I consider myself just a bit below average.

Problem is that most people are dumber than me.

Yes, for typically I find that I seem to have more common sense then most people. I find that common sense just does not seem that common nowadays...

I don't consider myself having a high or even above average intelligence. I am only well educated.

Currently I'm doing my PhD (electrical engineering with big chunks of material science and chemistry). Do you need high intelligence for that? No, just an understanding of the scientific method, patience and of course: math.

edit: never did an IQ test
