I happen to be a guy myself and I must admit, guys are dicks. It's sad, because a lot of times on the internet and other similar digital locations a poorly worded introduction and they just assume that you're "one of those guys".

Nearly every one I've givin a chance to has turned out to be "one of those guys"
I'll stick with saying "F OFF!" rather then getting pissed off later.

i have to say that probably works. but i don't think "hey first things first, i have a girlfriend" or "i am not interested in you in anyway physically, only in the game" count as appropriate conversation starters. for every jack ass thats out there, there is about 1500 decent men who would never try to ask someone to see their tits on forum or online game. i find this even more infuriating in first person shooters than MMORPGS. you have no idea how many times in MW2 i get accused of trying to fucking hit on a girl just cause i say "go ahead and take that care package" i don't give a crap if your anatomy is different than mine. there is a difference between being a team player and a team "playah".

incidentally, i did meet my girlfriend on a fourm site so i can't really criticize too much. but we've been together for 3 years and actually seen each other so i don't think it as shallow anymore.

It depends on the girl, I suppose. As for me, I like a little attention; I grew up thinking I wasn't anything special, but hearing the boys compliment my voice (although half the time I know they're really complimenting something else ^_^ ) gives me a bit of a power trip. It's like that scene in LoTR, when the elf queen starts wigging out and saying, "Instead of a Dark Lord, you shall have a QUEEN! Not terrible, but beautiful as the Sun! As treacherous as the Sea! ok i can definatly relate with the whole never being thought of as special type of thing, but there was a certain point where i started to realize that none of the compliments said on ANY game mean ANYTHING at all. i was in a forum on Gaia *shudder* until i realized "if i died tomorrow, none of these guys and girls would ever figure it out..."

a little bit of a drastic thought, yes. but the point is that people are completely different online than they are in real life. my girlfriend now was NOTHING like what she was online when i first met her in real life. im shy as fuck around other women in real life. get me online where all i have to do is log out when things go downhill and i literally say things that would have me losing friends left and right if i said it in public.

Some guys are immature and extremely promiscuous (Or hope to be...). I'm a guy and find when my friends are playing and get called slanderous names and flirted with over team chat in any game i'm just "-.- really?" They should go do that in real life and hopefully find a GF so they can stop being so desperate as to ask over LIVE.

I'm guessing these are the same guys who are mr. Hard with a mic whenever you play a game online? I love those guys in bfbc2 (they're usually snipers) so I just sit next to them with my smoke grenade launcher and ammo box and listen to their cries of agony about how they can't get that kill or see anything, tracer darting them in the face also provides much amusement.

On topic, I agree that a lot of guys are cocks online, it usually builds up into a crescendo of urine as it turns into a giant pissing contest with each other. As a guy, if I notice a girl playing a game, I'll usually only speak to them if I've got something relevant to say, I don't feel the need to go impress ladies onlinewhen for all I know they could be some attention... Lady of the night, and for all they know I could be some fat sleeze eating my cheezels.

In short, I treat them like anyone else.

One thing that I am constantly getting annoyed with is when I am playing some multiplayer (usually Modern Warfare 2) and hearing guys talk bullshit to girls. "Hey baby what size are ya t**s??".

My stepsister recently had to spend out the 800 Microsoft points so she can change her name from Beth xD because she was receiving 10+ friend requests and masses of messages a week on her LIVE account. It really annoys me how sad and pathetic some gamers can resort to being and this really ticked me off.

Would like to know how you girls feel about this issue or any guys concerning it =)

That's only the immature gamers, and to be frank I hate them outside of the gaming world too, so not much you can do but smack each one you meet in real life. I actually remember my sister was playing a game once when she was 10 or something and getting hassled by a whole lot of guys, its pathetic. (No offence to anyone who fits the description... Well actually... Yes, cause its true)
