I am sick and fucking tired of random guys coming up to me in Phantasy Star Universe saying shit like "can I see a picture of you" and other bullshit like that.

Even the ones that just say hi to me piss me the fuck off, the come up and just say "hi" out of the fucking blue, yeah I fucking know why you're coming over from your group of friends to say hi, fuck off!

They all think just because they come over, start talking to me and being all nice that I will fucking fall in love with them.

So you're telling me that the only reason someone would say hi to you is because you're a girl? Couldn't just be that they're friendly? That's quite an obnoxious and arrogant thing of you to say. Honestly just by hearing you talk I don't know why anyone would say anything to you at all.

I think that probably would be annoying, but girls that make names like "Gamergurl" and, for example I don't know... "Beth xD", are just asking for that kind of attention. While I think it's disgusting for anyone to act that way, many online females invite it upon themselves.

I'm a guy and I have to agree with the general view on this thread, seems like as soon as the "anonymous" concept sets in, most guys grows a few feet of e-p3nis and become the biggest you know whats. Recently me and my girlfriend started playing MW2 together and she actually swore off the game because of the comments (and trust me it didn't get any better when they find out I was her boyfriend).

Surprisingly I find that the BFBC2 crowd to be a lot more friendlier, and the PC community in general as well (probably because of server rules and such or it might just be me)

Hey. That, my friend, is stereotyping. Just because someone comes up and says hi does not mean they want to seduce you, the same way someone saying hi in Chicago does not mean they are going to mug you and leave you for dead in the gutter. Some actually just want to be friendly.

Also, sadly, I must agree than far too many guys think with the head below their belt and not the one on their shoulders. And when one's working, there's not enough oxygen for the other. Testosterone will do that to a guy. I'm not condoning it, dear God no, but I'm saying that most of them don't use their brains often enough to realize what they are doing.

But i think that to some extent female gamers also throw out there "OMG I'M A GIRL GIVE ME STUFF" (I play wow, and an ex-friend of mine [after this stunt] sent a picture of herself naked to the guild leader to get free purples [epics] and she isn't bad looking to say the least. Although righteous vengeance struck both people by her saying "i don't want anything serious" and then him getting on her account and deleting/selling all the stuff he got her)
but at the same time guys can also be like "tits or gtfo."

So i think that this topic is a double edged sword, because it can easily go both towards male chauvinism or female... attention getting?

I rarely seen anything getting close to this, alright I'm a guy, thought I've been asked if I was a girl once(I was 19, but I had a sore throat, was almost whispering, and rarely talk... the question still surprised me) but I digress. I'll give XboxLIVE credit for it's reputation, I witnessed it one time, watching a friend of mine playing TF2, while one guy was pretty much insulting her, for being a dumb 12 year old kid from Canadia (no typo here) which isn't true. The only online gaming I actually see is TF2, on PC (because I'm too cheap for a gold account to begin with) where I usually don't see that kind of trouble, and I hope I don't give the impression of one of the aforementioned guys, I rarely talk at all (English isn't my first language) so that probably help, and I try to stay polite to everyone, even if they sometime act frustrated to whatever I said.

Yes, Jesus fuck they can get irritating. Thankfully, they don't tend to be too bad on WoW. I guess that's because everyone assumes everyone else is a fat hairy guy in his mom's basement, so nobody hits on anybody.

One thing that I am constantly getting annoyed with is when I am playing some multiplayer (usually Modern Warfare 2) and hearing guys talk bullshit to girls. "Hey baby what size are ya t**s??".

My stepsister recently had to spend out the 800 Microsoft points so she can change her name from Beth xD because she was receiving 10+ friend requests and masses of messages a week on her LIVE account. It really annoys me how sad and pathetic some gamers can resort to being and this really ticked me off.

Would like to know how you girls feel about this issue or any guys concerning it =)

I myself would never say anything like that to a woman in real life, so I wouldn't say it to a woman in a game. I would however most likely friend request her just for the chance to play with or against someone of the opposite gender.
I haven't played an online videogame with a woman in about 8 years (and I know they exist, I just haven't been lucky enough to find any).

I use my friend's Xbox Live for Bad Company 2, and there have been no random messages on her account as far as I can see. As for how I act myself towards girls on Xbox Live, if I see one, I think "What a rare occasion, good to see some female gamers.", but I never try to offend or annoy anyone. I aim to be the online gentleman.

Yeah, they are asses sometimes. I've actually whipped out the banhammer on a couple people who were harassing a few of my clan's female players on some of the TF2 servers I admin... I hate guys who are like that. Why can't they just realize that most of the girls who do play online already have boyfriends/are married, and if they are not they are there to game, not for online dating...

EDIT: Although to be fair I only took out the banhammer after they had been warned, silenced, they left and rejoined to dodge the silence, continued harassing, were kicked, came back to continue some more, and then called me a few choice words that I don't want to say on this forum. So half the ban was for disobeying and disrespecting an admin.

It's more like SOME guys online are pathetic.

The ones that annoy me either in LFD2 that make stupid jokes about how girls can't play when I'm doing much better than them on that certain stage and of course after the round is over they friendly fire me until I have to leave with insults flying to me about how chicks are stupid and what not. Or how they kill me multiple times and go into the headset saying, "Are you crying yet b*tch? or "Know your place."

Then in games like Halo - you get some guys that are a bit too friendly, age/pics/location - befriends - lets talk? boobs? Though at least its less hostile and I can actually play till the end of a map - usually.

Wow... that's pretty messed up about the Left 4 Dead 2 thing.
What's their problem? Some inferiority complex? I hate guys like that, they have no respect for anyone but themselves, especially not women and they treat them lower than dirt.
Sorry, to say this, and I'm not being racist, but I find 9 times out of 10 they are Lebanese. It's just part of the culture really.
They come over to Australia, thinking it's just a "halfway country" and that they'll go back to their own once all the conflict's over (fat chance of that).
They treat the inhabitants of this country like shit, spit on us, beat us up, graffiti everything that doesn't belong to them, and treat our country like it's their own.

Feel free to call me racist btw, but I haven't mentioned anything about colour. It's the behaviour I can't stand and I've observed that the majority of them are pigs towards women.
