in fable my character always stopped by the chapel of Skorm, was gutted when someone decided in fable tlc to reveal it was all fake. After that the religions in fable (as well as the rest of the games) went down the crapper!

In DnD, gods are known to exist, so its never a matter of believing in them. I always worship one because it adds flavor. In Forgotten Reamls, anyone who doesnt worship a god, or merely pays lip service is deemed "faithless" and has a very unpleasant afterlife.

Since im Christain, nope, I say they are real but they are not gods (in game people) they are like people like Shaogorath or aka ME just people that have alot of power, hoepfully you can become pwerful in skyrim as well...
So playing a game, in which your make believe character worships a make believe god is an affront to your "real" god? I thought you people weren't allowed to even play RPGS.

For some reason DnD4e doesn't recognise Orcus as a god, despite saying thousands worship him. Really screwed up the campaign I was in that I couldn't put him down as my deity.

No. I'm strongly anti-theistic, and wouldn't sully any character with the belief in an ultimate authority.
You have like the perfect profile picture for a scientific practical minded man. Also Mordin is a f**king badass.

Generally I just say I worship the sun god even if there isn't a sun god in the game it just sounds cool to me.
Whos says people who worship a god in real life can't have a scientific practical mind I am catholic and I don't belive in the creation story and I belive in evovlution instead I also do not belive in some bits of the Gospel and revelation I only belive in the metaphroicall sense of it all.

Ot: My charater in all elder scrolls games worship Sheagorrath even more so my Oblivion Charater who is sheagorrath
OffT: My skyrim charater is going to be the same guy from oblivion but was in shivvering Isles During that time he went out and explored and traveled to skyrim after making a brief time travel trip to the times of the arena game and the morrowind games. and got arrested for claiming to be a god

My god in D&D is Kelemvor the god of death in the Forgotten Realms series. Though my character uses the powers granted to him a bit out of spite as my charaacter was kidnapped from a militant sect of the gods worshippers and forced to become an Avenger. Though he does not care much for the gods worhsippers he saw a truth in the teachings and uses him more as a means to an end to achieve his goals.

In really life, I'm agnostic. However, I've done it for the sake of roleplaying before, but I find it hard to follow both fictional and non-fictional monotheistic and polytheistic relgions for the sake of roleplaying. That said, I found it easy to play characters who believe in pantheistic religions though I cannot fathom why.

People in real life worships gods because they get something out of it, be it peace of mind, a place in the afterlife or justification for their prejudices against people they are afraid of. Same with me in RPG's I only worship for that +1 perk to my armour bonus.

Never thought about it, in the elder scrolls games I guess it'd make sense to, they usually do me favours and hell I am one...And some mannerisms have passed over into real life, I do find myself going by the nine and stuff like that...Well you've convinced me I'm going to start worshipping Gods in games, I wonder what life will be like now!

Nope. I don't even worship a god in real life. Besides, Fallout doesn't have any deities to speak of.
What about the Church of Atom?
A nuclear bomb isn't a god.
an atom is not a nuclear bomb
Breif science Lesson Incoming:
An atom is a form of matter and in fact are the smallest form of matter all elements and compounds are made up of atoms
For something to be radioactive it needs to have over a certain amount of protons and neutrons.
Just asking, have you played Fallout 3? The Church of Atom is devoted to a unexploded nuclear bomb, and though what you said is correct, The church is about a bomb, despite it being called "The Church of Atom."

The Church Believe that once the bomb detinates, it's explosion will give birth to thousands of new universes (most likely made up of those atoms), and that it is a god to new, unborn worlds.

Here's a fun little joke!
There were two atoms, and one said to the other "I think I lost an Electron!"
The other says "are you sure?!"
The first replies "I'm Positive!"

I believe in, and actively pray to, the RNG god.
*sigh* don't we all...
OT: While I find some gods in games to be humorous (Molag Bal is a funny guy) and others to be awesome (Sanguine and Nocturnal for instance), I don't put any time into actively worshiping any gods that may or may not exist in the games that I play.
Whenever I play D&D I actively ridicule the other players that worship gods. Although I did have a rather unfortunate instance where Thor challenged me to an arm wrestle, and my dexterity was never quite the same =|

I thought nine divines were mortals who defeated a certain evil and were then hailed as gods.
Were they really gods from the beginning?
Also, most of the gods in Morrowind were "Fake" gods.
They were mortal beings with godly power.
I even trapped Vivec's soul.

To be fair it's only the Daedric Princes who's existance is confirmed. That's why I don't like the other gods. Also they're "too" good. Even me, the guy who finds being evil in games boring, hates the gods like the Nine.
