I'm 19 and started with the NES at about 3-4. Huzzah for holding the zapper to the screen and shooting in Duck Hunt!

21, 22 soon.

First game I ever played was some sonic game on my SEGA game gear. That and the fighter pilot game. Those games were the shit, and the Game Gear was awesome: it only took 6 AA batteries to give you like an hour of entertainment.

I feel old here sometimes.

Wow. A neat bell curve on the poll results. I'm 22 and started with Super Mario Brothers, which I played holding the controller upside. I guess left being right and up being down makes sense when you're that age.

I'm 17. I started gaming when I was 3. My first system was the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis for you Americans) and my first game (that I can remember) was the original Sonic the Hedgehog.

16 seems a nice age to be at the moment, though I was exactly the same as this at previous ages and so now I look less intelligent merely because I can spell because those arbitrary numbers just keep on ticking up!

Though judging by teh interwebz, I still look far smarter than most of the denizens in their 20s and beyond.

Huzzah for a basic knowledge of morphology!
