Rather than adding 8 bajillion pokemon, add about 50. Spend the rest of your time and money on an actually interesting story, improved overworld mechanics, etc.

I really believe that they've gone pretty far with the Pokemon ideas, and they really are running out of designs. However, I think that, instead of new Pokemon, they should focus on the gameplay and how to make it better. Sure, a couple new Pokemon per game would be nice, but not too many.

Honestly, I think they should make more games like Pokemon Colosseum and XD: A new region with very different features than all of the other ones, but all of the same Pokemon.

Actually, now that I think about it, there is a decent reason for Pokemon to be so different in style in the Isshu region: It's a totally different part of the world. Generations 1-4 were based off of Japan, while Generation 5 is based off of America.

Is this a serious fucking reply? How does disliking Jynx's design make me racist in any way, shape, or form? Is that a joke? Why does it need to be said? How is it worth any time then with that attitude? Do we make the assumptions that people who dislike Mr. Mime somehow hate mimes from that? Is it because you think you're cute or clever? Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?


Anyway, whatever. Taste runs different, but I think it's rather something else that people do to keep themselves from new installments, not the Pokemon themselves. There was a big period where I didn't play Pokemon anymore. Around the time Crystal was released, I started to lose interest and just didn't care. I had some wild notion that I was growing up and automatically should hate something I was obsessed with in grade school. I became a fucking nostalgia-fag almost immediately when the newer generation of Pokemon started to come out because I had already set myself up to REJECT THEM.

People either have just genuinely moved on and see no reason to be involved or care, because it doesn't affect them whether or not that game receives new installments or not, and do not care that a newer generation of kids enjoy something that they might have, but most of the time and even in mine, this was not the case. They don't care that the style might be slightly different, could see how kids would love certain Pokemon or hate them, and have figured out that terrible Pokemon came from their generation as well. They might not play at all, but their attitude is far better about it.

Most of the time, it's really just a bunch of high school+ d-bags acting like old men about things that were better when they were playing it and have already set themselves up to reject the newer installments because they have some notion that they grew up, all while acting childishly about who gets what and what is it. They cherry pick Pokemon like anyone does in their play-through to create an argument to why the newer generations suck, leaving out the terrible designs in the past that they wish to have forgot about and pass hate down to newer Pokemon for losing their focus.

I meant "keep your opinion as your opinion" as more of how we convey our opinions, not so much how we interpret each others. I can understand your position on the subject and even agree with you on some points, but I'm just saying to keep in mind that there are other people with varying opinions on the matter. Most Escapists are mature enough not to flame each other over something so insignificant. There won't be a flame war, if anyone see's flames then they will put it out with that special red button.

As for the wording, I didn't see anything wrong with it. He's just bashing the new Pokemon a bit and that's perfectly acceptable, your allowed to bash things just not people, because then that would be trolling.

I think you're quite confused on what you're allowed to do on the Escapist. You aren't allowed to bash anything because the moderators here understand that everyone has their own opinion, and that bashing something would offend that opinion (assuming they are opposed to it). That's like if you/I were to make a thread talking about homosexuality that repeatedly bashed homosexuals, saying how homosexuality is the bane of our existence and that homosexuals suck and they should be ended, and as the last sentence of the OP, you/I address the U.N. pleading to them to go around exterminating homosexuals...and then, after a few angry posts from other members, you/I post "relax, I wasn't serious, it's a hyperbole, I don't actually believe this thread will affect the minds of the members of the U.N...but I still stand by what I said." First off, "our opinions" was a generalization (you should probably go look up what that means if you're going to make assumptions whenever I use one), a nod to how the human race is, at the very least, recommended (or asked, if you prefer) to act toward one another. There are always going to be aggresive people on any side of an argument, the whole idea is to rise above that. And to address the same sentence once more:

Someone asked you to provide a refutable defense to your blatant comments about the franchise, and instead you were insulted at the fact that the person was acting like a smartass. Ooh, a metaphor! Listen, one person's mole hill is another person's mountain. Sorry to have to repeat myself (again...not my fault if you don't get my point though), but just because you don't see significance in what you or the person you're defending is saying, doesn't mean noone else does, either. The whole point of my argument is about -drum roll...again- respect. If someone was bashing something you had a great appreciation for, you would want them to show respect for your opinion and anyone else's that disagrees with them. Same case here, only reversed.

By all means, keep going with the idea that you are allowed to attack any 'thing' you want. Don't be surprised the day that you are suspended/banned for your "aggresive" comments...or the day you get your ass kicked, if this is how you "argue" in real life as well.

Please, do me the favor of actually paying attention to everything I said throughout the thread, then come back here and tell me whether or not I started anything. I sure as hell didn't start any flame war, I'll tell you that much (considering a flame war has to be started by actual flaming).

EDIT: In fact, on my second response to the guy, I specifically stated I wasn't trying to piss him off. I in no way made this personal at any point, nor did I attack him based on his opinion. There's even a post where I AGREED with part of his opinion. My stance was on his aggresive manner in conveying his opinion, and how he would make his opinion more of a blanket statement (that offended others, which is where my posts came along).

So, if you're going to make false accusations, please get your facts straight first instead of coming in here trying to make me look like the bad guy.
