Agreed. It has gone on for too long now, it really is abuse. They don't anything really special with the new games, just pump the same shit out over and over and it's really sad. Also, everyone knows the new Pokemon suck compared to the originals, almost everything about these new games are pathetic.

The TV show is even worse, it's literally soulless crap. I can't believe they can get away with it for so long, there should be study on it to see if it cause brain damage!

Yeah it's the same thing over and over, but it's for an entirely new 'generation' of kids. I played Poke'mon Red & Blue, but that was a long, long time ago. I don't play it any more, but now my students play Platiunum. Yeah it's the same thing, but with an updated look and feel.

Nintendo has been doing this with all its franchises. Why not kill off Mario, Donkey Kong or Metroid? Because my Mario may not be your mario. Have you ever played the original Mario on the Atari where you thump enemies from underneath them and knock them out by running into them? Probably not, but you've probably played Mario Galaxy, which I have not.

How about you check out Pokémon Black and White, then try and say it's the same thing as the others. They understand the series has been samey, which is why they went the way they did with Black/White.

The games really are just the same thing over and over and over. The entire draw of pokemon is the pokemon, and if the pokemon are lame now, the games have no value. Just play the older ones. If you've seen any of the pokemon from black and white, then you know what I mean. They have gotten just ridiculous.

Also, the show: I happened to have LOVED the original series and it is a corner stone of my childhood, but now... I mean my god. I can't help but think "Oh no, the future generation is gonna see this and do one of two things: love it (which would make me weep) or hate it and there-by think it is representative of what pokemon once was."

I hate people who make this arguement. Seriously.

Because its fairly obvious that you have not played Pokemon since Gold/Silver, and are judging hte new Pokemon based soley on the fact that the new ones arent the old ones...

IF you actually played the game, you would realize each generation adds new mechanics, and betters the game play (both metagame and competitive). Its not the old Rock/Paper/Scizors bs, its gotten a lot more complicated since then.

And the fact that they are constantly making new Pokemon, and finding ways to spark interest with old ones, as well as encouraging new strategies and gameplay styles, I fail to see how they are stagnant.

I mean, for fucks sake. Major mechanic innovations each generation isnt something we ask from ANY of our milked franchises. So when one actually does do it, its considered "milked" just because it has appeal to kids.

Usually I see two sides of a story, but no. In this case, no. If were bitching about innovation in a industry known for its lack of it, then you need to just go play whatever generic first person shooter you think "changed the face of the gaming industry".

Rather than adding 8 bajillion pokemon, add about 50. Spend the rest of your time and money on an actually interesting story, improved overworld mechanics, etc.

this. they could really revamp it, and PLEASE make a decent console/pc game this time around..stadium was fun and all when it came out, but please, you could fucking swim in pools of cash they simply made a console/pc game for pokemon that was as solid as the handhelds

Pokemon isn't nearly as good as it used to be and it might just need to be Old Yeller'd. Although, a few of the new Pokemon do appeal to me. Plus, as long as Nintendo can make a good profit off it, it'll continue... Possibly forever.

for years, I have prayed to the Nintendo overlords, God, and even the FSM, for a Pokemon RPG.
YES! and while play as a trainer might be ok, I want to play as a pokemon! Pick your pokemon, lvl up by fighting other pokemon and players, and eliminate the trainers from the equation. Just pokemon in a pokemon environment. Kinda like dungeon quest if dungeon quest wasn't piss...

Pokemon will never end as long as their are still people watching/playing it...if your a true fan to Pokemon, you will respect that this a show for kids, and not us teens/adults, therefore it should not change just Because you and few other don't like it.

No matter what the hell you try to do, it will take alot for Pokemon to change, think of Pokemon in the real world, in our world Animals are different all over the globe, same with Pokemon, why should they keep it relativity the same when it isn't in the real world? Hell i'd love to see what Pokemon live in Africa, the amount of stuff they could do.

Speaking of Pokemon relation to RL animals, I have a question for you: What do the humans in the world eat if the world is inhabited by Pokemon? (I'm not trolling btw this question has been bugging me for some time and I've been trying to find someone knowledgeable in all things Pokemon to see if they had a genuine answer.)
