First person to label these correctly wins an INTERNET and some cake as well
specifics are needed as in specific model and variant information, and if no one gets 100% i will take the top score. The contest ends on Sunday the 13th at 9:00 PM eastern.

There's a rotating cam in the trigger mechanism that engages the disconnecter after 3 shots. The problem with it is that if you release the trigger after only 2-shots, you're only going to get 1 shot the next time you pull the trigger rather than 3. IMHO, it only adds a lot of unnecessary complication (and parts that can break) to the M16 trigger group and is one of the worst ideas the US Army ever came up with.51gunner said:Excellent thread. Pleasure to read from someone who really knows what they're talking about as opposed to 12 year olds who learned about weapons from Counterstrike or Call of Duty.
I've got a question for you that hopefully you can answer. I've used the Diemaco C7A1 & A2 (Colt M16 variant) for a few years, and as you know that entails stripping & cleaning it a lot. Last time I was doing this, as I stared into the trigger mechanism, I wondered: how the hell do three round burst settings work on rifles? I know how the automatic and repetitious modes work, but can't figure out how a burst would.

Not to mention Desert Eagles have a frightening tendency to stovepipe without superb motion control.DeadlyYellow said:Wouldn't that screw up your arm? Not exactly sure I understand how you would fire a handgun from the waist unless it was holstered. Either way, the recoil will drive up your arm or into your leg.MCGT said:How much of a badass would I look when firing a gold plated, blinged-up Desert Eagle on its side from the waist?

Examples of Nations where prohibition laws have or are working properly:Steelfists said:That argument comes up a lot, and I always think that it is very unlikely that the ordinary citizen would be able to effectively defend himself or herself when faced with a criminal with a gun, AND if the country's prohibition laws work properly, the average criminal will either not have access to a gun or would not use the gun to rob an ordinary citizen.Stickyreiss said:majorly simplified answer: If owning guns is a criminal act, law abiding citizens will not have them, the majority criminals however will not be stopped. Then, how do we defend ourselves in a threatening situation? I can go on if you want, thats just the one of the strongest points IMO.Steelfists said:...
That thing is just too damn huge.
OT: Justify the right to bear arms in the USA when the firearms murder rate is substantialy lower in countries where the average citizen cannot own a gun, and specifically handguns.
*EDIT*
My most recent paper was actually about the firearms policies in america, and i can post excerpts if requested
I think the last point is key.
And to answer AlexTheBucket I was talking to a judge yesterday and he said that most countries have constitutions (he was talking about how the UK doesn't have a constitution).
