Depends, if it was the room I'm in right now, I'd probably step behind a book case and trust that three feet of compressed paper would stop enough of the shrapnel. In most cases I'd probably find something to duck behind, even a rock the size of your head can save your life if you position yourself behind it in line with the blast.

if there is no cover id throw it back. There usualy is time for this. Kick is the stupidest thing you could do...as its an instant PWN on ur ass

If not, lob it where I can and get behind something to stop the shrapnel.

In all honesty, to my surprise, I'd probably jump. And then stumble as far away as I can get before it blows.

Quickest turnabout I could manage with a short run and a dive. It's better to get shrapnel in your legs and back than your face and torso. Even the fuses on them aren't entirely reliable. If you're told it has a five second fuse, then it has a three second fuse. If I had somewhere to dive, then I'd go there, otherwise, the turn, duck, and cover. Only an idiot or a hero would throw it back or jump on it, and I'm neither.

This thread did give me a rather amusing mental image of two guys having a grenade landing between them. Both dive to grab it and throw it back and end up knocking their helmets together and knocking each other down. Ultimate "oh shit, I screwed up" moment I can imagine.

I heard that in real life you shouldn't Lob it back in the opposite direction, just take cover.

Jump up and down in the hope that when the grenade goes off I will be lifted by the explosion, doing a double jump and land to safety on a roof. It works in Halo why wouldn't it work in reality?
