Half Life was an alright, albeit incredibly and very blatantly linear, first person shooter. I picked up 2 when I got the Orange Box, beat it, enjoyed it, will buy the newest episode. But I didn't upgrade my PC in anticipation of it, I didn't pre-order it, I didn't pick up an Xbox to play it...so in terms of what had a lot more impact on me, it'd be Halo.
