I got an Xbox 360 on launch day, and it only crashed a few months ago. I was foolish enough to let a girl touch it. It instantly red-ringed. I'm not even kidding heh.
Now that I think back on it my first PS3 caught on fire while there was a girl in the room.

Coincidence? I think so.

I have had several girls play games on my 360, but it was my last roommate that made it red ring. He got absorbed into Oblivion when it came out and played it for 16 hours a day.

In my situation we were playing it a bit. Turned it off properly. Went downstairs to get a drink, came upstairs, sat down, and as soon as she touched the power button it died. =P

Of course I know it's a coincidence, calm down dear. Gender stereotypes can still be funny

Yes, I've lost a PS2 and an XBox 360. I can't remember how long it took my PS2 to die, I got my first PS2 when they were released and all I can remember is that I replaced it with a PS2 Slim, so it must have lasted a while for that to have been out. Likewise, I bought my old XBox 360 on the UK release day, and it lasted all the way through to the middle of last year.

Looking at half of the posts here I can't help feeling that I'm in the lucky minority....

Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) 32-bit, lasted about 15 years... a rabbit chewed the power cable... apparently this has since been replaced the device is know once again functioning at full capacity. (I can't confirm this because it's not in my possession anymore)

God I love old technology =D

None of my game consoles have ever died. Now, if we start talking about computers, that is a different story.

MY PSX is the only console to have died on me, and its because the Mod chip melted. I knew it would happen eventually, suprised it took 8 years not the 4 the usual life expectancy is.

My first ps2 died around 2 years into having it, killing itself whilst shortcircuiting my tv at the time..

My First xb360 lasted 8 and a half months before getting red ring, and my second 360 has lasted me since early 2009.

360 has died once(famous RROD) and 2nd box is still working. Although it has been making odd noises, sounds like it's damaging the CDs. I bet it's gonna fall apart before the end of this year.

My Xbox 360 red-ringed last year due to me not realising that it was baking temperature in my unventilated room. When I'm into a game, nothing can stop me.
Last month I wanted to show a friend the original Super Mario 64, but I got no power. My dad says the power cord port is fried and he's gonna fix it some day.

Nah, he will do it. Just as long as i ask it to him every week or so. He has a busy life and easily forgots the chores around the house.

my genesis stopped being able to read carts ( about 7 year lifespan?)

my ps2 kept having to have its reader lenses replaced (still counting)

my 360 got RRoD about 4 times (still counting)

luckily, i got my 360 and ps2 working again.

I've had two 360's die on me.

1st one lasted less than a week (standard RROD)
2nd lasted a few years then a power outage shorted the ethernet port.

One PS2 died on me, stopped reading disks.

Never. I gave away my PS1, my PS2 still works fine after 8 years, and my PS3 and Wii are rarely used.
