no, I do not hate him, nor do I love him...

what those americans should do is realize that their beloved us of a has a SERIOUS problem. Obama is AT LEAST trying to solve it, and even though I have a very basic understanding of economict, even I know that printing money is only a temprary sollution to state debt.

and he's doing a damn sight better than georg dubya bush whose sollution was just to lower taxes...
Although Lord Little-Beach is trying to stop the crisis there is just one small problem. He is trying to put a fire out with petrolium.
if you'd have bothered to read my other replies you can see I actually concur that point...

(if you have taken the trouble, disregard post)

The only debates about Obama that have had any serious length to them was his race, birth certificate, and whether or not his presidency is actually legal. It sucks that whatever change this man brings is instantly marred by his race.

undoubtedly some of the people screaming about obama are harboring racist tendencies. the vast majority aren't, however, and to insinuate that they are is only going to make the political dialogue in america that much worse.

I think racism might be too strong of a word. While I am sure there are some people that did not vote obama cause he was black, I honestly believe they are a tiny minority compared to just about every other voter group in the country. That said, Harper's had an interesting set of numbers in their index this month
Chance that a conservative displays an 'implicit preference' for white over black people in a psychological study: 4 in 5
Chance that a liberal does: 3 in 4
Chance that an african american does: 2 in 5
So i guess, you could say (in the words of avenue Q) everyone's a little bit racist

I don't understand the hatred of Obama. I understand why conservatives hated Clinton, and I understand why liberals hated Bush jr, but in this last election, for the first time in my life, I didn't feel like I was picking the lesser evil. I felt that both Obama and McCain are patriotic men who truly love their country and that both would do a good job. For those who are so panicked about Obama's Presidency, I have to ask-what's changed, really? Recession's ending, fewer Americans are dying in Iraq, our country has taken a clear and unequivocal stand against the sorts of torture that Saddam Hussein used. Truthfully, most of us that voted for him wanted him to go farther than he has.

As for the racism-it's not a coincidence that most of the the froth-mouth chanting people in the clip referenced here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.143498 are white, evangelical christians, with a viewpoint that illegal aliens are destroying this country and a paranoia that someone is coming for their guns. They probably don't think they're racist but I'm guessing most of them don't have a lot of black friends and that the legendary American xenophobia does in fact inform their political views.

Yeah, stupid Nobel laureate who got Egypt to recognize Israel and set the framework for a comprehensive middle-east peace accord. Stupid man who's dedicated his life, after many years of government service, to providing houses for the homeless instead of going on lecture tours and having books ghost-written for him. What a jackass. Now Kanye West-that's a man we can all look up to.

QFT. Of course, that's only counting the two major parties. Where do the Greens come in? (I'm Republican, but give the Green party credit, because Nader has been trying so damn hard to run for president for like 30 years or something like that)

I love the fact that if you call a black president out for doing an inadequate job your a racist while saying the same thing about a white president is "sticking it to the man".

This is just reverse racism. Theres 300 years of slavery behind that smile so lets all be extra nice and tell him hes doing a good job.

True equality means that no matter what your skin colour, if you screw up royal, people are going to call you out on it.

Is it influenced by racism? Yes, there has been a long history of racism and prejudice in America and whilst the playing field has evened out slowly, the idea that one race is superior to another still exists in various people. A lot of the Republican hate he recieved was because of the fact that he was going to be potentially the first black president, and thus he faced various accusations [http://foxnewsboycott.com/images/humor/conspiracy_theories.jpg] because of this.

Is it based on racism? No. What it is based on is the fact that he is trying to make America less of a Republican country and that he is actually using what power he is given as President. With that on his back, it is inevitable that he would get some hate from the more Republican and Capitalist people of America.

There's talk of tyranny but no one said much of anything when George W was bringing in the patriot act.
You must not have been listening.

I remember a pretty damn huge uproar--not this huge, certainly, but Obama is doing even more to take away our freedoms than Bush did.

On topic: This has nothing to do with race. Obama is the most socialist president the United States has ever had. That's what this is about.
I dont follow American news so could you please tell me about these freedoms he is taking away? I have heard that they are being taken, but dont actaully know what they are.
Also, revise your definition of socalist, I know you said he is the most socialist president youve had, but many people seem to have no idea of what socialism actaully is, to the extent that people are calling it an offshoot of facism.

The race card is not being played, Jimmy Carter is exactly right! Racist do not want to be told that they are racist. But the truth is the truth, with Wilson's ignorant outburst, "you lie" with Rush Limbaugh's, "Barack the Magic Negro", with Glenn Beck's, "Obama hates white America" yes Pres. Carter's comment is in order. Electing the first black President brought us together and separated us at the same time. What Joe Wilson did and say was extremely racist in nature, this member of the Sons of the Confederate a group filled with segregationist knew what he was doing, it was not a passionate cry as some Conservatives so stupidly expect us to believe, it was hate. I hear people talk about America's ugly racist past, as if racism no longer exist. Racism in America has never left, America has always been a racist nation and those of you say otherwise, really do not know what the rest of the world knows. Wilson meant it, in fact, he really wanted to say, "You lie boy"; I am glad Carter told the truth, and the truth hurts doesn't it?
