Obama is the most socialist president the United States has ever had. That's what this is about.
It's a close call between him and FDR. FDR was the piece of shit who raped the commerce clause of the Constitution and opened the door to unlimited government power which Obama is trying to exploit right now.

And the notion that you are not allowed to dislike someone who, by random chance, is not the same color as you is one of the most racist things I have ever heard. To make that statement you have to purposefully close your eyes to all possible non-racial factors and focus SOLELY on race. That is the fucking definition of racism.

I love the fact that if you call a black president out for doing an inadequate job your a racist while saying the same thing about a white president is "sticking it to the man".

This is just reverse racism. Theres 300 years of slavery behind that smile so lets all be extra nice and tell him hes doing a good job.

True equality means that no matter what your skin colour, if you screw up royal, people are going to call you out on it.
If your criticisms are idiotic enough, it stands to reason that they are probably motivated by something else; race might be one of those things. Most of the widely publicized criticisms of the president have been very obviously moronic.

Pfft. No I doubt most people's problem with Obama has anything to do with his race. It's because he's a Democrat. I'm sick of hearing the race card get played by democrats but I think the republican side has been far more shameless in their propaganda machine. They appeal to people's emotions getting them so riled up and angry that they don't CARE what the facts are anymore.

As Glenn Beck said soon after the Obama election "The problem with America is that you don't BELIEVE in anything anymore. Even if it's not true. BELIEVE in it!" That pretty much sums up the republican propaganda machine right there. Even if you know what they're saying is total garbage! Believe in them! Because for the next four years they're going to make you either ashamed that you're republicans or so angry that facts don't matter anymore!

In a recent study they took 50 people that believed we invaded Iraq because of 9/11 and presented a whole list of facts to the contrary. Including Bush SAYING we weren't there because of 9/11. We were there because we thought he was building nuclear weapons. 49 of them got really pissed and argued. They didn't actually have any facts or information on their side. They used logic such as "We were right to be in Iraq! So they must have had something to do with 9/11!" Both democrats and republicans abuse this emotion based reasoning but republicans are far better and more shameless about it. They're creating a base of very emotional people who believe facts are the enemy. That's dangerous. As seen in the case of the maniac who gunned down those police officers because he believed they were sent by Obama to take his guns away.

BTW. Beck's response to the gunman, when being accused that shock jocks like him are at least partially responsible, "You can't blame the media for things like this. The blame rests squarely on the maniac" Which is coincidental because just a couple months earlier he said "I don't blame video games for violence. I blame the whole liberal media!"

Glenn Beck... He'd be hilarious if he didn't have a huge following. A huge following with guns.

I think that race is icing on the cake, but is not a direct source of all this vitriol

The best way I can think of to put it is this: People dont like Obama because he's black. People hate him because he's a Democrat.

And the simple fact is that Obama did something to cause all this vitriol and hatred.

He won.

I'm getting tired of these racism accusations. Is it so out of the question to say that perhaps these people feel this way about his policies because they genuinely think they're fucked up? Is this so difficult to understand?

Maybe as much as 1% of the protesters hate him for his race, but I highly doubt the number's even that high.

In their minds, his policies would screw the country more. That's it.

Jesus Christ. "The protesters think differently than us. Certainly they are thoughtcriminals!"

Can't we be a bit more civil? I mean, I don't consider socialists idiots or Nazis because they don't think like me. I consider them different.

I think this whole "Anti-Obama" crap is like an orange, the racism being the sin and the valid arguments being the centre. You can only ever see the skin.

people are never going to get over the fact hes black
it may be racist, it may not, but people will look at him and think "hes black"
i come from a generally white neighbourhood, and try to be as fair as i can when it comes to people with different skin colours
im not racist but he has a different skin colour, is what im saying, but that shouldnt affect him politically. that it does is racism

i like obama! (Y)

Why is it that every fucking time there's a black person and white person who have differing opinions that the white person gets labeled as a racist?

I didn't vote for Obama and i'm damn proud of that fact(voted for Nader, fuck both Republicans and Democrats for fucking us over), but I don't believe he's the next coming of Satan or anything.

People don't like the guy because they don't like his policies, or because they don't like democrats, or because they're just bored shitless from living in fucking Nebraska their whole miserable lives.

People are tossing in "racism" as an excuse because they want to paint the people protesting as the bad guys, and there's few people Americans will rally against faster than racists. People don't disagree with him because he's black(actually only like 44% black but that's not the point), that's just silly. They disagree with him because he's not fucking doing anything he promised to do, just like every fucking politician in the history of our species.

. Not to mention he fucking nationalized GM.
I am not very familiar with that, but wasn't the whole reason for why he did that save the company from going completely bankrupt and thus dooming it? (I am assuming your talking about general motors).
Yup. That's a bad thing. Companies are supposed to be able to succeed or fail on their own, without government meddling. What would have happened if GM had disappeared? Another company would have risen to take it's place. The government has no business seizing control of an independent company--no matter what shape they're in.

GrinningManiac said:
...please do, that was an abysmal list, with no facts (other than nationalising GM, which has nothing to do with freedom, I might add).

He's expanding...he's stopped parts expiring.

Expanded WHICH bits? Stopped WHAT expiring?
In a letter to lawmakers made public on Tuesday, the Obama administration revealed that it supports reauthorizing three expiring provisions of the Patriot Act.

The three provisions that are due to expire at the end of the year include the authorizations for roving wiretaps, the "lone wolf" provision, and the business records provision, commonly referred to as the "library" provision.

Funny, I thought Democrats were against the Patriot Act...guess we all know who's side ALL the politicians are on.

OT: For some people, it might be a racist thing, but I think most people are pissed at the actions that are being taken, not the person or the race.

I think a large portion of those who are against Obama are fuelled by racism. On the other hand, another sizeable portion of those who are against Obama keep using retarded arguments of how he's "tearing the country apart" and "destroying America" when these people can NEVER describe HOW he is doing that or what that even fucking means (ala the Fox News crew).

The rest of those against Obama tend to have logical arguments, but I rarely ever see an eloquent Obama protestor. I'm not saying Obama is perfect, I'm just saying the people who keep complaining need to chill the fuck out and maybe wait a little longer before they crtique how well Obama is doing as a President.

I must admit that much of the rage I've seen at town hall meetings in America baffles me. There's talk of tyranny but no one said much of anything when George W was bringing in the patriot act.
Er, what? There was a terrific uproar actually: though it didn't get as much media attention. And why was that? Because the media exists to sell itself, and the general feeling was very anti-terrorism at the time. However, there were stories here and there, and negative mentions of the Patriot Act exponentially increased as Bush's popularity went down.

I don't object to his reforms because of racism: I object because I fear the system becoming a government morass.
