I think a large portion of those who are against Obama are fuelled by racism. On the other hand, another sizeable portion of those who are against Obama keep using retarded arguments of how he's "tearing the country apart" and "destroying America" when these people can NEVER describe HOW he is doing that or what that even fucking means (ala the Fox News crew).
Allow me:

Printing trillions of dollars in what is essentially fake money, eventually leading to a total economic collapse.

I'm pretty sure it was the republican economic policies that put us in the position we're in and it's and shock jobs like Glenn Beck, that are "tearing us apart".

Wrong. Both parties have been forcing us down this path to ruin for 70 years.

I just want to quote Obama here, "[Kanye West] is a jackass." I know with the brackets he could have been talking about anyone but he was referring to Kanye West and said "He"

When this "total economic collapse" happens, then we'll talk.

Oh look, another retard who didn't read the link I sent him. You sir, have failed at the Escapist. Go away. Please.

I don't like Obama. I honestly don't. Really. Mind you, I haven't liked any of your presidents since FDR and Eisenhower respectively, mainly because those two were at least halfway-decent. But what I do like, is Economics. And all your 'OMG teh deficet is ruinin teh countrize!' crap is getting on my nerves. The reason your deficet is so high is because you are fighting a war and a recession, at the same time, and if it wasn't so high, your country would resemble mother-fucking Mogadishu right now!

Pray excuse the rage.

I don't doubt that at all. You did strike me as a rather stupid fellow.

I've seen maybe a handful of people who were genuinely opposed to Obama simply because of his race. I have no qualms about him being black or half or whatever, I just genuinely don't like his policies.

And unfortunately it has come to this. Carter just needs to shut up before he makes a bigger idiot of himself.

Jimmy Carter says that much of the bile against President Barack Obama's health reforms and spending plans is "based on racism". [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8258011.stm]

I must admit that much of the rage I've seen at town hall meetings in America baffles me. There's talk of tyranny but no one said much of anything when George W was bringing in the patriot act.

Do you agree that race is a factor? I keep hearing people talk about taking America back, from who? Or do you think that Obama supports are, I love this phrase, "using the race card"?
From who? No, from WHAT. From socialism.

Although there is some hate against him based simply on his race(Given the KKK still exists) and the whole him being a "socialist/muslim/illegal immigrant/terrorist/antichrist scare-cards, the only legitimate bits of criticism come from his deservingly controversial plans to fix everything, especially the economy and the healthcare system, but hey: At least he's actually doing something about it.

I've seen plenty of people bash 'bama for being "not white" and for his religion. I thought he was christian.

I don't like liberals. I don't care if you're white, black, or green. And even then, I don't hate the person, just his ideas.

(In case you're wondering, I'm a party-independent constitutionalist conservative libertarian)

Personally, I like Obama and I even voted for him. However, I think that a lot of hardcore conservatives don't like him simply becasue of his race. That's not to say that those people are racist in themselves, I just think that there is an insidious underlying anti-black sentiment that still runs through the core of American society. When propaganda is employed so strongly for such a long time, it can be incredibly difficult to overcome that quickly.

That being said, I don't think people are giving Obama a fair chance, and I even had an argument with a man outside my local Motor Vehicle Administration one day. He was giving out pamphlets with Obama sporting a Hitler mustache, which is just silly. It would be too curly. Sorry, I couldn't help it, but in all seriousness, I don't see how you could compare Obama to Hitler.

from a country that has in effect a hillbilly as president for the past 8 years, and there were no signifiicant protests, even when he's done far worse things, yes.

Kiutu is 100% correct, this has nothing to do with race and everything to do with policy. The Patriot act ruffled many feathers and you will be hard pressed to find anyone who has read it AND supports it. Only those who have heard the talking points agree with the patriot act. The healthcare bill is shaping up to be the same way; those who read it hate it and those who hear the talking points love it.

Having actually read HR3200, I am absolutely disgusted! I should point out I was disgusted by the patriot act, the 'stimulus' package, both war declarations etc. I think its time to just wipe out both houses and run a new election in which everyone in DC is ineligible. Lets just start over, this is ridiculous.

Also, i've now read several compelling pieces that suggest the 'Healthcare reform act' is actually unconstitutional. Any thoughts? I have to say, Having read the interstate commerce clauses (the part they use to create healthcare reform bills including medicare etc) I think they are right, its not legal. But anyway, I digress. Hope all are well!

Keep on Escaping guys! :) (and gals)

You must not have been listening.

I remember a pretty damn huge uproar--not this huge, certainly, but Obama is doing even more to take away our freedoms than Bush did.

On topic: This has nothing to do with race. Obama is the most socialist president the United States has ever had. That's what this is about.
Exactly, and the people of the US have dug themselves into a nice little rut that they aren't willing to haul themselves out of.

It doesn't seem to me like he is taking away freedoms, just creating boundaries. And let's not forget that a big reason the world is in a recession right now has been a lack of boundaries.

He's only doing what he said he'd do, what apparently people had elected him to do. If the majority don't like the way he's going, they should've voted McCain. Either way, the citizens of the US only have themselves to blame.
Bravo antiwheat.
