I don't have much trouble getting girls and yes it has been a problem before.
I still (usually) give them attention more than video games so that helps but I do love video games and it has provoked a fight or two if they feel ignored by me.

I have generally been more into videogames than my previous boyfriends, though that's never caused a problem.
The only issue I ever had with videogames in a relationship was with one particular waste of space who sat around all day playing the Sims and wouldn't get a job. We broke up because he could never cover his half of the rent.

My current boyfriend and I have the same taste in gaming, and play a lot together, so that works out great. I'm actually not sure if I could date a guy who wasn't into gaming...

good god, no.

If my girlfriend wants to do something- that shit takes priority over any gaming. I'll leave in the middle of the game. And I'm hardly whipped. Its just part of being responsible and being a good boyfriend.

Sex and being with someone I love is much more fun than gaming. And if you can put them all together which I have done- its even better!
My current girlfriend hasn't played many games, and so when we first played together- we played GTA San Andreas and the FIRST THING she wanted to do was fuck and kill a hooker. It was a good omen

Edit: what do ya know, now my title matches my avatar

Getting? No, not at all.
Keeping? Maybe a little but not anymore than any other hobby/time consuming activity could strain a relationship.

The trick is to find someone who shares your interests. My wife and I are basically racing to see he can hit max level on Dragon Age: Origins first. (I am totally winning. Dwarf Rogue for the win)

No. But that's because I've only had 2 girlfriends who hated me to begin with.

They didn't care. Or maybe that's why they hated me in the first place.

OP: You will never find yourself laying on your deathbed wishing you had played more Call of Duty. If you're allowing video games to affect your interpersonal relationships in such a heavily negative manner, you have a serious problem and need to address it immediately.

I can't date guys if they're not gamers, I know it just wouldn't work. We'd run out of things to talk about fast.

And there are not a lot of gamers around me. So, :/

No, oddly enough, my girlfriend likes watching me play games. I'm not sure why, but I do know that I'm preparing to pop the question to her any day now solely because of this.

You don't find many girls like that

Nope. She helps me with my games, I help her with her games. We play LittleBigPlanet together. The only time gaming has sort of got between us was when I broke her Xbox 360 by accident. It was five years old, (somehow!) and I gave it the unfortunate last push by swapping hard drives and turning it off and on again several times. No speech between us for two days until I put some mahoney for an Xbox Elite.

No, if gaming gets in the way of a girl you need to get your priorities strait. I will give up a day of gaming to spend that day with my girl anytime.

Unless of course i need a bit of alone time, then i'll just tell that i need some alone time and to respect that.

BTW i acually do have a girlfriend.
