So my carnivorous sandwich failed? Damn you nature!Swollen Goat said:I'll eat whatever doesn't eat me first.
The body fattens because you don't exercise properly, not because you eat meat.lacktheknack said:And then the body then fattens and slaps us about for obeying it. Growl.
Yeast is a fungi, like mushrooms. Tell your buddy not to worry about it, yeast has no connection to animals.firemark said:I don't know if anyone will care to answer this, but a buddy of mine is going to try going vegan this summer and he loves beer but he says that in order to be truly vegan he can't have beer, bread, or anything else with yeast in it. Does anyone have any feelings on that?
Do what I do - buy organic.grimsprice said:waiter: "how would you like your steak?"

That always gets a little chuckle out of people. Although i object to offering financial support for our current meat industry. Its overly barbaric, and thats a problem for me. So i try to cut back.
"Happy meat"! Actually there's a huge debate over how "happy" this meat really is.cuddly_tomato said:Do what I do - buy organic.grimsprice said:waiter: "how would you like your steak?"

I used to be a real meat head. But after seeing the kind of crap that goes on in factory farming I swore off meat altogether (animal cruelty is a big issue for me). These days I only eat meat which has been reared organically.
Rice and beans are cheaper than meat *nudge nudge*firemark said:I love meat! Nothing makes me happier than a perfectly medium-rare to rare steak with bacon and a little blue cheese (Sorry, I like to cook too). But right now I can't afford much more than chicken and Ramen noodles.

I'd hazard a guess that your line in the sand when it comes to lions and the like is the risk of cannibalism by proxyDoctorNick said:Sorry, total carnivore here.
If it walks, swims or flies upon this Earth there's a decent chance I'll be willing to eat it.
Beef, chicken, fish, lamb, 'seafood', etc, it's all good.
Hell if someone said "Here's some rattlesnake I fried up! [http://www.motofoto.cc/RattlesnakeRU_20.jpg]" or "We just slaughtered a horse, want a cut of it?" I'd be willing to try it, if I was in a place where eating insects was common and they had some giant locust or something for me to try, well, if it's cooked into something where I couldn't really see what it was I'd probably still be willing to try it.
The ONE major line I draw is I won't eat major land predators, meaning if someone I know went hunting and bagged a mountain lion I wouldn't be willing to eat it, same with if I was in a place where eating dog or cat is common it's just not something I would do, and so on so forth. I can't really give a really good response as to why I draw a line there but am willing to eat almost anything else, besides dogs/cats for reasons that should be fairly obvious to most westerners.
