I would live forever if, I didn't get old.
Let me explain, for example The Doctor is 900+ years old but he looks like hes not out of his thirties. That I could handle but being 900+ and sitting in an old persons home with parkinsons and alzheimers would suck.

In theory, forever, but probably not unless I had a means to kill myself if I ever changed my mind, wouldn't want to risk being stuck alive when all of Civilization had been wiped out or anything like that.

you may never die, which means that all of your friends will and you will just suffer for an eternity, always regretting that one point, that one day, that one life. as the good Doctor said "eventually you just get tired." and if The Doctor says it, it's the truth.

EDIT: on the other hand, being immortal I could just do what no one else will. step on mars? I'll live. fight in WWIII? hell no, but I would probably be drafted. on an unrelated note, this has given me inspiration for a short story that no one will ever see.

Fuck no, I already dread the thought of living to old age. Eternal life is eternal boredom, since there wouldn't be any risk (and thus excitement) in anything you did and you couldn't forge a meaningful relationship with anyone because they're mortal and will die eventually, leaving you right where you started.

I believe the universe functions on the basis of opposites. matter and antimatter, light and dark, pirates and ninjas, life and death, etc. Remove one and the other loses meaning (imagine trying to explain light to someone who's never seen darkness). Life only has meaning because death exists.

If the multiversal society was around forever I seriously would stay alive forever,of course I would want to stay say 26 forever(so I age for 9 more years and stop).

I would like to see how the universe operates. I want to watch stars form and die, I want to see how life can develop on a devoid planet, I want to seek out alien life forms. Also, it would also be nice to see what happens to humans in the long run.

Maybe for an extended time because human years do seem pretty minimal. But forever... no thanks I'll take the pass.

I would live forever, but then when I want to die I would jump into a volcano.

That would do a pretty good job of keeping me dead.

Then when the volcano dies or the world explodes that would be the end of my power nap and I would be ready to go again.
