Iight, this is only because my friend won't stop bitching about it. He keeps telling me to make this thread so I am. Do you like Inglorious Basterds? I say no. The plot development takes way too long and it results in nothing elaborate. Shosanna or Soshanna doesn't get killed by that guy from the beginning. The Basterds fail their plan. It may be somewhat of a comedy, but I didn't laugh, I just viewed it as stupid, now I'm going to make this a poll and you will agree that the movie sucks solely because I want to tell him that I win. Now vote damn-it!!

...It appears I intentionally confused some people. Not not means yes because they cancel. So Yes means you hate it, No means you like it.
Just saying.

Best movie that came out last year, behind MAYBE the Hurt Locker. I'll accept detracting opinions, but OP's an ill-informed ramble that reeks of being just WRONG.
No love for District 9?

No, I didn't like the movie. It was just another attempt by Tarantino to try to make money by putting in bloody scenes ad nauseum. He knows that the 13-21 crowd loves it. Acting wise, however, Christoph Waltz did a fantastic job. The movie is worth seeing just to see such a good job acting. I'm glad I didn't pay anything to see it. Even free, except for Waltz' acting, the movie wasn't worth the price.
I agree that was how it was marketed, and I dragged my feet on going to see it for exactly this reason (I loved Reservoir Dogs like burning, but I didn't care so much for Kill Bill), but I was pleasantly surprised by it -- sure it was bloody, but the scenes starring Landa or Shosanna, and the Mexican stand-off in the pub (before the SHOOT EVERYONEEEE bit) were excellent without having blood splurting everywhere.

I couldn't vote because my midnight brain can't comprehend so many nots.

I hated Inglourious Basterds the first time I saw it. Absolutely loathed it the moment I walked out of the cinema but after a few days worth of thinking, it was starting to grow on me little by little. Mainly, I was disappointed that Brad Pitt (my favourite actor) dominated the trailer but had very little screen time. But I got the DVD as a gift for Christmas and every time I watch the film, I love it more.

It's just brilliant. Christoph Waltz's performance, in particular, was chilling and impressive.

I never said I intentionally did it. I UNINTENTIONALLY did it. Not a dick move, I thought everyone would easily see that Not Not means Yes because they cancel. My bad. I admit that.

That may just be the most ass backwards way of wording a question. What was wrong with "Do you hate it? yes, no"? I see that the OP explains it but still I wanna know the thought process that resulted in that poll.

OT: No...or yes. Fuck it! I thought it was a good movie. Good balance of humor, action and a great story. The length was inexcusable, there was no need for it to be that long but it wasn't boring by any means.

I thought it was silly. But I liked it.

Also gratuitous shots of Hitler getting riddled with bullets.

District 9 is a close third. Definitely behind both of them, but a STRONG movie.

Thought process being: "hey, everybody asks yes or no, why don't I ask it with a double negative. Gee, I hope no one gets confused."

Not only did you not pay to see the movie, I don't even think you SAW the movie. Basterds was a clear case of Tarantino holding back on the action scenes, and really there wasn't even that much gore to it. Most action happened in a flash and was done with to make way for some of the most tense and interesting dialogue written for the screen.
Oh I saw it, unfortunately. I watched it for free and even that was more than I'd be willing to pay to see it again. Had I the time over again, I would have done something much more worthwhile with my time like spend an evening watching grass grow. I tortured myself by continuing to watch it to the end. The funniest part of the entire movie for me was when my wife said, "Rule Number 2. Double Tap" in the scene in the projector room. The entire movie was predictably Tarantino boorishness, but hey, if that's what flips your pickle, then feel free to enjoy it. You can buy the copy that I'll never purchase. Watching it once was once too many for me.

Good thing you didn't vote No. You would have been another victim of the "I wanna do this wrong" craze.
