I was meh. SO much talking, which made me lose interest. The action scenes were really good though.
And that is the problem these days. People mostly wanna see action scenes instead of suspense building.
I second this. The GodFather wasnt great because of heartpounding action scenes...it was great because of the perfect dialouge it had...and yet it is considered one of the greatest achievements in drama and cinematography ever...

P.S note i said ONE of the greatest...before everyone starts belting me with movies...
And people wonder why Hollywood dumbs things down...

Well lets go down the list.

Im not getting on your ass...that would be gay...

I read the whole thread and if you didnt want people to get fooled with a double negative...dont even write it, you even said it there that it obviously means yes because they cancel out which means there is no need for it

If you were arguing on something that would want human judgement...why would you make a thread...basically your making a thread for if a person likes inglorious basterds or not, not really on your argument at all...also i dont want to chill out, im a suave talker..not really the type with the whole yelling to get your point across...just getting your point across part...
Shall we address the issues in question?

1) Double Negative: As I have stated, I do, or did, not care about this thread. I do now because, shockingly, it somehow grew popular. The double negative is just there because I felt like putting it there. Originally it was just your standard-and boring-"do you hate this movie?", but I decided to not be a bland person and spice it up without being able to be accused of trolling.

2) You being a suave talker: No, just no. Don't elevate your status to that of a capable person because, if you cannot even detect the simplest of lighthearted attitudes towards a thread or anything in particular, you belong in a diaper being burped.

3) You actually are getting on my ass about it. I mean isn't that the point of your whole reply? To attempt to point out nonexistent fallacies?

4) Judgment: Really? You really think I'm arguing about judgment? See point #2.

5) Not being chilled out: Why the hell are you here then? This isn't an intellectual discussion thread. This is an "I just want my friend to shut up" thread with a bunch of people who gave their opinion without-key word-being a dick. I also doubt whether or not you can survive an intellectual thread without you being torn to shreds for incomplete thought.

Have an absolutely pleasant morning, day, or night. [:

I really didn't find the movie that good, I mean the title implies that it's supposed to be about the Bastards, but it's not, it focuses too much on that girl. It's like two stories trying to compete with each other. The Shoosana girl or whatever her name is makes her side a little too serious while the Bastards side tries to be too humorous, it's like the film didn't know what it wanted and tried to mesh both sides of the film spectrum together.
I'm not saying that the film was all bad, it's just it should have stuck with the title's concept and not tried to put in too much of what it wasn't on.
It's not supposed to be about the Basterds though, that's just the title of the film. The real meaning of the film that I gathered was the power of subtlety through film.

And blowing shit up.
Well, the way I see it, is that if you're going to give something a title, at least relate it to the central theme, not something off on the side lines

More like Inglourious Bas-turds. It was aweful, the plot was shit, and the one actor that was anygood was the German guy (who got a oscar) and the pace was slower than a deer with no legs.
and the deer was tied to a very large rock with an unbreakable rope.that shocked it every couple minutes ans stopped it getting any momentum.
anyway i really like the movie. it was awesome

People have come to a point where they have shorter attention spans, so people who grew up watching speech based movies like The God Father, Titanic, even horror movies like Psycho, (where nothing happens for a half an hour into the movie, and nothing really ever happens again) we get shunned upon by movies around gore, sex, nudity, violence, and stonking great tits! cookie to whomever knows what web series that is from...its on this site *hint hint*
Um I'm gonna take a wild guess....

Is it Zero Punctuation?

And yes and that's what games are doing now these days. Publishers don't want to take a risk in making new IP's and dumb everything down, because of it.

Basterds was my favorite film of last year and is also my favorite Tarantino movie. The script really drove it home and I felt the character development and plot development didn't take too long at all. Pitt's performance was fantastic and it ended on a perfect note.

Yeah, I liked it. You can't beat Tarantino's dialogue. That first scene, fucking awesome.

I just wish that it wasn't advertised as an action movie. The posters and the trailers really played up the violence and going into the movie I'm sure that most expected an action film like Kill Bill (which wasn't even that action-y compared to most action films) and would have been disappointed with all the talking, the swine. I can understand why it would have been advertised as an action movie as I doubt that many people would be interested in seeing a movie that is essentially about movies, but it would have gotten away with the backlash that this movie received.

An unfortunate example of the lowering of Hollywood's quality I suppose, maybe more so than Transformers 2. If people aren't going to enjoy a movie because there isn't much action, well that is a real shame.

i liked that fact that the trailer told you nothing about the film so when you saw it the amazing story was not spoiled. amazing film
THIS^

I bloody hate trailers that essentially give away the entire story *COUGH LAW ABIDING CITIZEN*

and regarding the OP, the Basterds did finish their plan. Hitler died GG

You sir...get a cookie, and that is completely true (i believe i spelled completely wrong) because there was a time where games were intelligent and used that thing you have in your head that no one uses anymore...oh i know what its called...your brain! Even some new games have some sorts of thinking in it...basically anything made by Tim Schafer, or Tom Clancy, because Tom Clancy games cant be run and gunned. Also i want more adventure games...the last good adventure game i can remember is Grim Fandango...another Tim Schafer game...if you havent played it; play it, beat it, blog about it, and love it...On a more serious note, there are some serious games...just not that many
Alright I will check out that Tim Schafer game thanks for letting me know of its existence.
But seriously when did this whole "dumbing down" thing start to happen?

I take it that this is the first Tarantino film you've seen, because all of his movies have a similar style to this one. If you were expecting something like Saving Private Ryan you were pretty much screwed from the begining, but if you watch it again with a new attitude you might like it better.
