That's what I was wondering about. It will be interesting to see the sales figures. Games like LBP deserve all the attention they get.harhol post=9.74562.838957 said:I'm worried the opposite will happen - tons of hype and then no-one actually buys the game.
Well, you're right, but the difference I see is that where LBP is getting huge amounts of press and previews months prior to release, I hadn't heard anything much at all about the other indie games I mentioned. So despite the fact that LBP is from a previously unknown developer, it moves into the category of "highly-hyped" since is has been... well... highly hyped.Indigo_Dingo post=9.74562.839573 said:LittleBigPlanet's an Indie game too....Dr Spaceman post=9.74562.839515 said:We don't really have a lot of "sleeper hits" in the game industry anymore. It's too bad. If you look at Metacritic, just about all the games for the major platforms (360, PS3, Wii, and PC) that have received high scores are highly-hyped games, except for indie games like Audiosurf and Braid.
If Little Big Planet is considered a "sleeper hit," then I guess Gears of War 2 will be one as well...
Wii has far less buttons even with a nunchuk (which is not necessary) and LBP requires more than "Swing!" to control it (Like the top selling Wii games Wii Sports and Wii Play).Indigo_Dingo post=9.74562.839104 said:Amazingly, so does the Wii. And the use of SixaxiS in LittleBigPlanet would be just as appealling as the use of the Wiimote.Fineldar post=9.74562.839081 said:But isn't it a PS3 Exclusive? The cutesy Wii crowd doesn't have a PS3. And the controller is too complicated.
It has buttons man!
Sure its expensive, but when has that ever stopped a soccer mom? Checked the price on an SUV lately?
