I don't regret it. But I'm a man... I wouldn't make a girl do it though, I respected my girlfriend's wish to keep it until her honeymoon (though I don't know why you'd want awful sex then, but hey).
I honestly don't get that. I mean, sex isn't everything, but if you end up getting married and it's only THEN that you find out that you are both sexually incompatible? Yea, that's a wasted relationship/marriage right there.
Quick question and this may just be me being a virgin here but how can two people be sexually incompatible? I'm honestly curious about this.

Anyway, I'd say it probably is overhyped from what I hear, but I don't know yet. I'm waiting for someone special enough to lose it to.

Well, my first time was... traumatic to say the least. Definitely over-hyped. Now, I'm a little nympho.

Goddamn this thread is depressing.

Okay, my opinions on sex are as follows:

I honestly don't give a fuck about it. I'm still a virgin, yes and I proudly maintain that because I want to wait for someone I love, but is that what I'm all hyped up for? Hell no. I'm a romantic and I want love. That's it. I don't care about the sex aspect of it and in that respect, I am asexual because if some girl came up to me right now whom I've never met before and said "Please sex me up Julian!" I'd just be like "Please leave me alone"

I'm looking for the love aspect. That's all I really care about and unfortunately, my desire to be loved has caused some rather awkward situations. Being someone who's never really felt loved even by his parents makes me rather emotionally clingly. If someone shows me the slightest bit of human compassion, I typically think they've taken interest in me in someway and often times, I end up liking them too much, which is a really horrible way to be.

Now, those are my opinions on virginity itself. It's a special thing to me and I want to keep it until I meet someone wonderful but as for "Is sex or losing your virginity hyped?"

Yeah, I can say with 100% certainty that it is. It's looked at as a right of passage or a badge of honor and that's never the way to look at something like this. More often than not, people's first times are typically 3 second periods of quick spasms and then a strange grunt followed by an hour of shame and regret.

1)I wish I had the experience necessary to post here (however I'm 15 so it would be illegal if I did)
2)I was reading the ones above my comment and it was mentioned that girls bleed if it's their first time. If that is true then I'm glad I read this otherwise I could have had a nasty surprise in a year or so. (Along the lines of "Oh shit, I'm sorry, What did I do wrong etc.)
I just want you to know that it IS NOT in fact illegal to have sex when you are 15, as long as your partner is around the same age (under 18)(I think the rule is that they can only be at most three years older than you)

THE MORE YOU KNOW!

AAAANNNNDDD.... I'll quit quoting right there.

The poll is, indeed, broken. But I'll go ahead and, 6th?, this comment.

While I too am a virgin, I've always been told that there is nothing to be excited about for the first time, except for dissapointment and messy failure. And apparently I have 411 references to go off of here.

I've stated that I've had only 3 sex partners, but I had A LOT of sex with those last 2 guys. You don't have to have a lot of partners. Just sayin'

I must admit, with curiosity being my nemesis, the thought comes to mind every once and a while. Sometimes it lasts, although in the majority of cases I disregard the whole thing. I have no interest in diving into anything until it is with a person whom I hold a close affection toward. If that means I wait until twenty four or whatever, then so be it. The time will come eventually and when it does I will cross that road.

To answer the specific query, my god yes, sex is immensely overrated as a whole. My cousin use to attempt to pester me due to still being a virgin. This from the kid who ended up with an endless line of failed relationships. Yeah, I would rather wait, than trade lives there.

depends on how you lose it really. If you lose it to a girl who, at the time, you really really love (even if the relationship doesn't last) then i would say that no, its not over-hyped. you'll probably have a really good time.
But just having sex with a girl who you think is kinda hot, because "everyone else is having sex"... its just not as good... or at least i can't see it being as good. i speak as if i've actually experienced this, but as of yet i still retain my 'v'.
I too am sadly still a virgin at 19 so I don't know. I did have phone sex wit my ex gf a bunch of times but I was never able to get alone with her. I do have to agree with riottrio that sex for love would be better but as for now I have no idea.

by the way this is the first mature thread I have ever seen regarding sex. have a cookie fellow escapists.
this thread still going? i swear i commented on this waaay over a month ago.
though its heartening to see people still caring about what i say :D

I'd say it was rather overhyped. It was shrouded with mystery and whimsy and magic. But in the end, it was just...wet, sloppy at best and badly choreographed. You get the hang of it eventually, but in honesty it is absolutely nothing to fret about.

Nymphomania is literally a clinical condition where you need to have sex.

Don't throw it around online without expecting someone to take it literally.

While I agree that losing your V is overated, it was pretty much what I expected when I lost mine but then again the person I lost my V to it was also her first time. So yeah both of us were pretty nervous but we got over it the end.

I had a mighty fine time because it was with a girl 7 years my senior who was a self described libertine. She was also a metal head so I came to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bcIlg3LY_A

And I cracked that joke cause you were talking so much about bases ><
Oh okay, I don't really know many internet memes so that went way over my head.

I know going on about bases is kinda dorky and Americanized, but it sounds better than, "Some drunk chick who's name I don't rightly remember sucked me off then probably regretted it the next morning."

I mean, yeah... it's somewhat more palatable.

In any case I'm sure that joke would have gone down better with someone else, sorry for my web ignorance.
