Poll: lurker or commenter?

The mere existence of this thread makes any data that you get useless, because a true lurker won't participate.

Yes this is quit true, unless the lurkers vote in the poll, but then you still won't know who is a lurker, and now we are back where we started, an irrelevant thread

This just about sums it up.

Also, an option for "Lurker and only comment when I have something useful to say" would have been nice. I border between commenter and lurker.

I cannot lurk. I'm incapable of it.

It's ironic really, I lurked since December 2008 to my join date, but that wasn't lurking really, I was just way too nervous.

However, nowadays, I must comment on everything I can. Obviously, only that which is relevant to me, but I try and do it as much as I can.

Okay, EXTREMELY curious, and sorry for the double post, but why do you see it as a necessity to comment on everything you can? What on earth could you possible hope to gain from that?

I'd make a comment about enlarging your post-count e-peen, but that's way too flamebait-ish.

Lurker is a weird amphibian monster in Gothic series, usually waiting in the bushes around water surfaces and I like reading comments with that in mind. I'm easily amused.

I was wondering how many escapist members just lurk the forums, never really commenting on anything. And then I had an Idea, I shall make a poll I thought, and force the lurkers to take part on the forums thereby easing them into commenting

I usually come on here for videos and things (does that count as lurking) but when I go on the forums I usually comment... even though I don't go on them that often. Hence my low(ish) post count with long(ish) membership.

It was a good year or so before I got into the habit of commenting at all. Then when I started, i did it all the time. My hope is that sooner or later, people will start recognising my avatar and comments.

I am a commenter. Were I a lurker, I would have simply continued my habit of not having an account and simply stopping by and reading all your conversations.
