They're for morons who can't be trusted with a normal computer. They are idiot proof. (They actually fail at that as well)

it is a painless workstation,, my 360 takes care of my games.

I like mine because it just works.. every time, none of the Dark lord of M$ loitering around causing crazy errors.. because the OS is straightforward it is easy to maintain, it is not as flexible, but because of that, it no longer requires constant upgrades and fooling around under the hood, it is less screwing around. I no longer want to spend sunday nights fooling around getting windows to do what I need it to.

My opinion hasn't changed for the past 30 or so Mac threads. Overpriced.
Damn right they are. You really don't get your money's worth with them. The best example is the Macbook air, it dosen't even come with a CD drive but if someone wants to buy one, I wouldn't try to stop them.

Admittedly they haves pros as well as cons, but the cons seem to far, far outweigh the pros. Cons include massive price tag for equivelant hardware, unbelievably irritating fanboys (almost as bad as xbox fanboys), no customisation potential, incompatability with everything not made by Apple (which is also overpriced, and if anyone even thinks about saying bootcampo I'll refer you to whoever it was earlier that said that running a completely different operating system just a get compatability didn't count), overly simplistic interface, the list goes on.

Pros include...okay I got nothing.

NB. Before anyone goes off at me for being biased, I grew up on a Mac playing crystal calibur pinball at age 2. When I got a PC at about age 5 it was so much easier to use, TO A FIVE YEAR OLD! Also, the hell is with the single button mouse?

EDIT: And for those who bring up the 'no viruses' remark, I'll refer you to the Cyanide and Happiness strip on Macs which simply ended with 'Mac, nobody gives a crap'.

Personally I love my Mac... I have a Mac Air for work purposes, and it does everything I need it to. I have a gaming PC for running my games though... And would never give that up. For me it's about whatever does the job well enough. I love my Mac mainly because of the specific model, being so skinny and portable yet still being able to kick the shit out of any of those netbook fan boys. Yet when it comes to real powerhouse tasks nothing stands up to my Gaming laptop/Desktop... But I'm hardly gonna carry either one of those to school everyday... Yes that new Dell thing looks very sexy... But the curves of the air mmmm, not to mention that I don't want to buy another over priced machine.

'scuse me? Thats the worse argument ever. Windows, is straight forward, and easy to maintain. You just need an admin account, and a tiny bit of common sense of what things you don't touch. like the windows folder for instance. Or the bios.

Here is a mac 'just working' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM1yFwlgHFk

Also this: http://www.macfixit.com/index.php

My PC only crashes, when I want it to. Well, what i mean by that is I make it crash, I KNOW what makes my PC crash. Two things. Attempting to overclock my CPU, which is got around by just not doing it. Fixed. Second one is overheating. Its' only a problem in summer, and then I just take of the side pannel, and attack a clamp on fan to the case. Fixed.

I'd rather do this then have a lap top start underclocking itself because it got a bit sweaty.

Updates are good. Look at Bungie, Valve, they are succesful and respected because they do update. Not because they leave it as it was on launch. A month or two back I installed a patch from microsoft to adress the next mega virus. Updates, are important and nesscesary. If you think that getting a better system from updates is hassle, then your a moron.

Macs are pretentious, dumbed down and overpriced pieces of tripe.

At one point, they were clearly superior for graphical design, nowadays, in that area they're the same as a PC, while remaining inferior in most other areas. Only reason they're still the "graphical industry's standard" is, sadly, because they were the "graphical industry's standard"... Kinda like famous people remain famous because they were famous at one point.

As for the "it just works!" crowd... They crash, often, more so than decent PCs if the user has some common sense actually. You'll generally find less mac users COMPLAINING about it because: a) when your mac crashes you take the whole fucking thing to the store, and b) because most people use a PC, so obviously most problems will come from PCs... Along with most uses... and most everything...

Ps: iTunes is an atrocious piece of malfunctioning crap. You'd think for a company boasting "IT JUST WORKS!" they'd make sure their damn software is at least usable.

macs are for idiots, thats the target audience there, for fucks sake they literally made pretty colors a selling point for a while. i like to be able to tamper with and change all the settings on my computer. i also like not being treated like a retarded child, and not having all my options in submenus of submenus.
i guess im just pissed at people who use the damn things, and refuse to admit they are capable of ever having any flaws.

and yeah, great security, now excuse me, im going to give the 20 security gaurds at the local mcdonalds nightvision goggles machine guns and telepathy.

ok yes im a slight MS fangirl, but even i admit that there are problems, and vista pisses me off (its too... appley)

Internet forums, are always undoubtedly PC biased.

Which explains the mass love for all things Valve on this forum. The hate on Halo. PS3 being a laughing stock. Wii not really coming up into conversation at all.

Or, god forbid Valve is good, halo sucks since the first title, Sony fucked up the PS3 since release (way to give up most of your exclusives there sony) and the Wii is a cruel joke for children and parents that are too old to know what gives... Just maybe.

And what exactly does a Mac do better than a PC nowadays anyways?

I often wonder exactly what the hell people do with their PC's to make them think this.

I think Windows is better, and people who think they are superior because they use Macs annoy me, but I don't mind Macs all that much. Although they technically ARE PCs, no matter how much they don't admit it.
PC stands for personal computer. As in, you can personalise them.

Ever tried to upgrade a mac?
=P
The way I see it, you can put backgrounds on it, you can make it look nice, it's officially personalized. =D

As an editor in the video post production field and someone who creates and manipulates graphics... Macs are overrated and overpriced. They aren't the gods of creativity and certainly don't make things easier. It's just that the personalities of designers and editors are already smug, and that fits right into the Mac persona.

Steve Jobs did not give birth to Jesus while inventing fire. It's a machine that fails like any other. There are less of them, so the perception is quite skewed.

BTW, people that aren't Mac heads would like this site. http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/full-list-of-stuff-white-people-like/ It's quite funny if you have a sense of humor. If you are offended... this site was made about you.

I am a windows loving mac user. Macs are easier and more comfortable to use. Windows are easier to love and are better computers.
