1999 with my cousin's wrestling game, it was awful but I had good memories with that...

...I didn't know how to do anything.

Or Pokemon Red, thanks to my Big Sis!

I started playing video games when I was three. For as long as I can remember I have played video games.
Don't think there was a specific moment when I went "Oh snap; I'm a gamer", think I've been one since the first time I sat down in front of the TV with that NES controller in my hands.

After my parents split, I had nothing better to do then play video games. I haven't stopped yet, but at least now I'm not depressed when I play, not for eight years. I'm not sorry about my choice, not one bit.

My first console (not including handhelds) was a PS1, but as far as I remember I didn't have that many games for it. So the moment I became a 'gamer' was when I got my GameCube. I think the first game I had for it was Luigi's Mansion. However I did have a Game Boy which I played for hours everyday, especially when Pokémon came onto the scene.

While I had a Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) back in the day that I got as a gift from my aunt, my brother and I mostly just played the games that our aunt gave us with the console and not much else. Our parents would rent us an N64 on special occasions, and on one such occasion we rented Ocarina of Time to play with it. That was when I say I became a gamer. Just from the rental it left me spellbound, and I didn't stop begging until we got an N64 of our own with that game. Pokemon and Super Smash Bros. sealed the deal.

i was born a gameer back in 1989. my dad helped me play when i was 1/2 years old and when i got to 3 i could play the master system and then mega drive on my own. i remember cleaning my room several times to get Sonic 3 and then Sonic and Knuckles. the PS1 was the first console i owned (as the megadrive is my dad's)and which came with Tomb raider 1 and 2 and Mortal Kombat trilogy. also played doom when i got a PC the same time i got my PS1 along with little big adventure and earth worm jim.

and now i play PS3, 360 and PC, had a wii but sold it when nothing substantial was coming out, SSBB was the last game i bought for that before i sold it.

My first taste of gaming was the SNES mario games. Then I my console died and I was freed for a little while. I got back into it in Australia where I discovered games boys (the old-school ones which were the size of a brick and could be used as murder weapons). Incidentally, this was also the time I learned about the existance of anime, but thank god I didn't get into that.

It was only after I'd moved to the States and recieved my first N64 along with a copy of Starfox64 that a monster was born...

I played alot of Tetris on my Gameboy in 2000, but I don't really count that.
In 2001 my best friend got him Age of Empires 2 and Turok 2. I've been hooked on first person shooters and RTS' ever since :D

Kingdom Hearts and KOTOR, 2003.

It was the start of a long, long love affair with science fiction, rich stories in games, and RPGs.

I'd played games fairly often before that, but those two titles cemented me as a gamer.

Heh, somewhere between 1988 and 1991. Sky Shark in the arcades led me to borrow a counsin's NES to play it at home, which led to an NES of my own o Christmas of 1991. (Still have it, still works.)
