No one can prove if there is or isn't a god, so I can say that since there isn't proof for or against then I don't know if there is or isn't a God. Most religious type will take that as an answer and leave me alone about it, atheist have to insist that I turn to their side on it. How is there anything wrong with saying you don't know and don't care, if there is a god he doesn't effect my day to day life and if there isn't then it doesn't matter anyway.

I totally agree with you. No one can proof there isn't a God. That's why the entire world is agnostic. Only arrogant douches are gnostic. I don't know if there isn't a God or not, I believe there isn't. Making me an explicit atheist. Also, atheists can be religious. If you don't know, and don't care, that makes you an atheist... If you don't believe in a God then you are an atheist, regardless of whether you believe there isn't a God or not. Implicit = lack of belief of a God, Explicit = belief of a lack of God

At least when Religious people preach, they have good intentions. When Atheists preach, its mostly out of that smug sense of superiority that you can't even deny we [atheists] love. It irks me.

I agree with Cody on this one, I actually like to believe there are many gods, not just the ones we know (Jehovah (dick), Buddha, Vishnu, and all the rest) but I mean gods in books and things too (read Promethea, you'll understand)

Therefore you are a theist... Assuming by like to believe you mean you do believe as opposed to would like to believe. Never has theism meant you can only believe in one... What are you agreeing with?

If you don't know, then obviously you don't believe in it. I just don't understand what is difficult about that.

Atheists calling agnostics pussy atheists are calling themselves pussy atheists most likely (due to the small number of gnostics). Again, I know of no one who believes that they know God (doesn't) exist(s), as opposed to believe.

However, people who answer a question with agnostic implying that that is a third option between atheist and theist have their definitions wrong.

I think people are stupid because if they accept that a God is omnipotent and that free will exists then they deny causality. Also Problem of Evil.

I have no problem with theists in principle. Believing something started the universe is understandable. It's the extra stuff that specific religions add on.

But there is a 3rd option, you cant just clump everyone into 2 camps, this isn't just black and white. I don't believe in ether side and I associate with the middle ground, in the area of belief I can stand were I want.

Athiests bug me the most, though religious people that try and shove it down your throat bother me as well (Which may be odd, since I'm a Christian). But the athiests bug me partially because at least with everybody else's preaching I see an insentive, Religious people, usually want to save your soul, companies want to make money, but at least may offer me a better deal, and the social activits want to make the world a better place for everyone and their respective causes is how they think that will happen, but what are the athiests offering, reason? but that can have a place anywhere else as well, though perhaps not the adamant reason only stance that they take... but I've never found the sole satisfaction of being "Right", (which I already belive I am) or "Logical" or "Rational" (Both of which I see as important qualities, but they are not the most important im my opinion).

I just don't why when some Atheists hear you're religious, they decide that you must be ''enlightened'' or whatever (I can't think of a better way to put it), instead of just respecting my beliefs. You don't see me fucking Bibles into peoples faces, telling them to repent or convert or whatever. Now, I understand that there are many religious preachers who are like that, and I find them annoying too (again, not respecting others beliefs), but I just find the Atheists to be more obnoxious. Just my opinion.

Dude, your religion still controls the country. You find atheists more annoying because you disagree with them, but religious people preach more (I pass 4 churches on the way to class) and louder, (Tea parties) and have greater extremes. (Westboro Church) I don't mean to make this into a religious argument, but for you to act like atheists are forcing themselves into Christianity to enlighten others completely ass backwards. In fact, my guess is that your only interaction with an atheist preacher is on the internet. I've never seen an atheist standing at the corner on a soap box handing out copies of "The Origin of Species" or something.
