And there's almost nothing gay with a movie where Natalie Portman make out with Mila Kunis...
You're aware that's totally gay, right?

OP, your mom sounds homophobic. You should totally trade her in for another one.

EDIT: Homophobic and ignorant.

that's not gay at all if you want to see a clever movie filled with body horror. Just show her the trailer, and when she sees Kunis and Portman make out she'll get it.
don't care if people think your gay. I'm straight and I'm planing to cosplay as this guy

do what you want and who cares if someone questions your sexuality
Note: I'm cosplaying him to pick up chicks mostly.
ummmmmm... did you just quote me and not say anything else. I've never seen that before.

That's not a real thing, surely? Have no intention to google to find out, oddly enough.

OT: Ignore her. That's it, really. Unless she was joking?
It's a long running joke within my family that I'm stereotypically gay, despite being straight (/kind of bi). I just kind of roll with it.
It is a real thing. It's basically a woman and two men in pterodactyl suits.

...and then a hand puppet pterodactyl appears.

I used to believe my younger brother was gay. When he turned 18 and brought male friends over, I would pretend to bring in a tray of cookies or refreshments in his room, just so I can walk in and drop it in astonishment at the perverse acts I happened to interrupt.

Unfortunately, nothing of the sort happened. The only perverse thing that went on was that some of his friends would ogle me when I brought in refreshments. It was flattering, but bewildering. Don't young boys like...uh...huge tracts of land? I barely have a garden.

I'm not joking in you, it's quite irrational to think that I'm gay because I want to see a movie which has had brilliant grades and is just new and fresh.
Plus, she says that it's not normal for "straight men to like these kind of movies.
So what does the escapist think?

EDIT:I'm straight, just to tell you guys.
I think your mum should shut the hell up. (no offense) Going to see a good film, no matter the subject matter (with some exceptions) is no indication of one's sexuality.

To be honest, I've had people poke fun at me for going to see this film as well. I just told them they are missing out on a fantastic film and should be more comfortable with their own sexuality. Same as when I went to see "I Love You Philip Morris" and "Brokeback Mountain", of which were both fantastic films too. Just because a films lead characters are gay, doesn't mean the film is pushing a gay agenda or is only appealing to gay people.

However, if you were anxious to go see "Burlesque", then I'd say she may be onto something. ;)

That would be like saying I'm gay for enjoying Memoirs of a Geisha, or thinking Hugh Jackman is the best looking man in films.

It's a movie that has lesbians in it, how does that make one gay? I think it's quite stupid to judge someone's sexuality based on a movie and especially so if the only reason she thinks that is, is because there are ballerinas in it. She should stop stereotyping and have a change of thought.
Well, if you want to know how my parents views are upon the world.
They're against abortions, if the girl doesn't want the baby then she should STILL have it against her will and put it in a foster house.
They're homophobic.
They think that Atheists are idiots, because they don't have a faith in god.
Plus they think that Buddhism is a religion which is my practicing religion but since it has no gods to worship then it's techniclly speaking a atheist/faith slash something.

They're the equivelent of the tea party.
Run. As fast as you can. Start now. Stop never. I'm only half-joking.

Your mom sounds suspiciously much like mine who wouldn't let me take up ballroom dancing, because that's "only for women and fags". Which, considering dancing skills makes you a babe magnet, is just mind-blowingly idiotic. My point is that cutting my mother (and the rest of my family aside from my older brother) out of my life greatly improved the quality thereof. I'm not telling you what to do, because that's not my place, but I am giving serious advice. Run.

Is it strange I like this plan?

The Pterodactyl plan just scares me, but....

And how is he going to fee himself? Or where is he going to live? And how is he still going to be able to go to school.

That is assuming he's still a kid. If he isn't then what does it matter, parents can't really stop you then.

Exactly: "That is assuming he's still a kid." I didn't assume that. And if he is, it can still be useful advice for later in life. I expect him to have enough sense to excercise some form of judgement.

There's a lesbian sex scene in it.

Just tell her that, she'll quickly come to her senses.

No you assumed he was an adult and had the luxury of being able to leave this setting.

For kicks, you should have pterodactyl porn running on your computer for her to see. This will definitely convince her that "being gay" is the least of your problems. ^_^
Must. Resist. Google.

If the argument continues past "Well it's a psychological horror film and the ballet is just a backdrop, just like how Steven King's It wasn't about really about clowns." then I think it's time for "Fuck it I'm going anyway.".

Tell her that two extremely attactrive women get it on, that might help.
