Interesting, I expected a lot more people to be pill poppers for some reason... o_O

I usually wait it out. Unless its something that will not go away. Such as being sick for several days or if you stabbed yourself. Then I see a doctor. (note: the flu sucks)

Depends entirely on the illness.

If its heartburn I pop some gaviscon asap! (I swear the inventor of that is a god!*worships*)

If its a headache, a'll leave it till it affects my gameplay, then I'm on the paracetemal and going to bed to sleep it off.

if its just a cold or the flu (without a headache) i usually leave it and sleep it off. (i sleep in a similar fashion to being in a comatose state)

I'm the only person I know of in my family who doesn't get headaches, stomachaches, ect. Even when I do get them, a glass of water or two clears it up quickly enough.

That being said, I don't trust mecidinal science. I'll go to the doctor if I've broken a bone (never happened, by the way) or if I've gotten sick enough that I think it may be thretaning my life, but as a general rule, I don't just agree with what doctors tell me.

Apologies Abound

Really? I'm the only hippie here? Nobody else uses natural stuff?
Only if the "Natural" stuff works better than the extensively tried and tested commercial stuff that takes several years of safety testing to get on the market. (even then cure is worse than the disease half the time...anal leakage is growing more and more common with these things...)

Tea and vitamins work for me...I'll go for pills if they are really necessary (like last week when I got a kidney stone I took a good amount of vicodin) but other than that I pretty much stick with natural stuff that'll just keep my immune system healthy. It's really the best way to prevent sickness, too.

Ill wait for as long as I can before having to take pills, not because I don't like the pills, but I am too lazy to always get them.

Been poppin Motrin three times a day since I broke my thumb and sprained my wrist (opposite hands too. /cry). It hurts, and I hate taking meds, but it helps the pain.

Pills were invented for a reason. Why suffer when you don't have to? Unless there is a potential side-effect, in which case you need to assess the risk, etc.

Natural as in herbal medicines and teas...the other idea kinda scares me a bit.

Ex-manager of mine told me his home remedy.

For this remedy, you need one 2L bottle of orange juice and one uberhot vegetarian curry.

Drink the orange juice. Eat the curry. Dress in the warmest clothes you have and wrap yourself in 15 blankets. Proceed to sweat the bastard out.

I don't know if it actually worked, but being hot as hell with a blocked nose and a burning tongue took my mind off being sick.

I have a headache every single day. I get used to it. But if it spikes above the normal pain amount, I usually grab some Excedrin.
I feel for you. Happens to me every now and then. A good two weeks of a continuous headache. Turned out I needed stronger contacts.

I usually nab two Tylenol Extra Strength, if I have a bad headache or fever.
