I always try to wait it out. Not always doable, as I get some nasty migraines, but yeah, I'll always attempt, and usually succeed about 95% of the time, to wait it out.

I usually wait it out. If it is excruciating and over the counter medicine can't quell it I go to the doctor.

Do vitamins count? I usually stock up on vitamin C because I used to catch colds like it was my job. When I do get sick I just drink Nyquil so I can sleep. And for real bad headaches I don't fear the Ibuprofen.

I usually just try to relax and have a bit of tea when I'm sick or have a headache. Of coarse thats how I prefer to deal with it, but there are some times where I have to go to school or out somehwere so I just wind up having an asprin or a dose of medicing to get me through the day instead of putting up with it.

Every day I take (separately):

- B12 (16,667% DV)
- B6 (5000% DV)
- One-A-Day maximum multivitamin
- Calcium with Vitamin D precursor
- Omega-3 fish oil

Toss in some caffeine pills when I want/need some pep, and you can see that pills are not a problem for me.

I don't think caffeine is addictive, btw. It gives a mild euphoria for the duration, but I tell myself I'm going to take some but I still forget to (before class/workout/etc). Wouldn't happen if I was addicted =p. 10 cents a pill can't be beat.

I chose 'other'. I usually try to wait it out, but if it becomes too much or just keeps getting worse, I'll take something.

I almost always take something if I'm not feeling well. I have a surprisingly large amount of faith in modern medicine.

Really? I'm the only hippie here? Nobody else uses natural stuff?
Natural as in sitting auround a bowl of boiling herbs and spices for congestion? Or natural as in like... cheroke hair tampoons?
Natural as in herbal medicines and teas...the other idea kinda scares me a bit.
Natural sounds safe, but with a couple exceptions they aren't tested the way that drugs are. Generally, you can't know if there really is an ingredient that does what the maker claims, how much of said ingredient you're getting, or how much other junk you're getting with the active ingredient. Herbals have side effects and toxicities just like the scary drugs, but because they're considered "dietary supplements" as opposed to "medicine," they don't have to go into detail about what side effects they have.

The points of the mini-rant are-

1) a single multivitamin = good.
2) herbals = questionable benefit with side effects.
3) overuse of drugs = bad, but if you're suffering or have something which can be treated, drugs = good.

I hate taking medicine for some reason. I always wait it out. It's probably not the best decision though.

When I say herbal meds I'm referring to plants that we actually know the effects of, not the "herbal" pills you are talking about.

And I agree with you on vitamins but I am a strong believer that people should get all their vitamins through there diet...and so I do. But in the case of other people I'm sure that is probably a good way to keep your body healthy.
