Poll: Porn. Have you ever been caught with it and how would you react if you caught your kids?

Never caught (brother was almost caught once, but I agreed with him with a story he came up explaining it and so they believed it).

As for kids, I plan to never have any, so hopefully it's not an issue. However if I somehow ended up with one who I caught looking at porn between 14 and 18, I'd probably just tell them not to use too much, and that real girls are much more fun

On topic: I have been caught, it was awkward. My parents tried to keep me off comp. I don't plan on having any kids, but if i did, I'd probably be ok with it. Make sure they werent gonna go around rapin folk or molesting dogs, but otherwise, have at it

Yeah rage at your kids for watching some mock sexual fantasy and take them to therapy - that won't scar them for life at all.

The foundation of today's problems is essentially sexual repression. Look at notably repressed cultures and see what I mean - take for example any country which has decided to ban pornography and pornographic websites due to pseudo-religious constraints like Saudi Arabia...all that bottled up anger needs to vent somewhere.

Heard my step-mother telling some of her friends about some Playboys she found in my dresser (which I had 'borrowed' from my father's stash).

Had a very awkward moment where, years later, I was showing my sister a small side table she was thinking about using in her apartment. She opened one of the drawers and there was the copy of Jenna Loves Brianna that I had completely forgotten I'd hidden. It felt like ten minutes went by before we closed the drawer and moved on to something else. I don't think she ended up taking the table.

I wouldn't care if I caught my kids (if I have any) with it, as long as they don't steal a credit card and run me into debt to get it.

I've never been caught, although it has gotten rediculously close at times. Ironically, and incredibly awkwardly, I have caught my dad watching it multiple times. Those scars do not heal.

The massive collection of transsexual porn... says a lot, heh, but the lesbian stuff? Not so much really - the primary audience of girl on girl porn is almost invariably straight men. Apparently the reasoning goes "I like women, so more of them at once is even better!", and it's a nearly universal guy trait - we like watching women going at it with each other (but generally find the notion of watching the inverse completely disgusting).

So if you'd found nothing but lesbians in his porn stash, that wouldn't really tell you anything at all about his sexuality apart from "he thinks women are awesome, especially when naked", which is hardly any great revelation. Knowledge is power!

If I caught my kids I 'll shrug it off. if they don't know that I caught them I wouldn't tell them. one of the joys of watching porn is that no one knows you do.

Well if you count your Dad buying you a Playboy as being caught, then yes. But they've never walked in on me or found it.

Personally, I would probably help my kids get porn, and if I walked in on them, I would say "Oh, continue on then" and leave the room.

And I wouldn't react badly if I caught my kid. Like the OP said, it's natural and teenagers are gong to be curious. I'd only get concerned if it became a serious problem or something.

A topic i'm sure has been done to death, but i got curious. Have you ever been caught looking at porn or had your parents discover porn on your laptop / tv / other? I have once long ago. My mum reacted badly to it despite me being 16 years old and using the 'at least i'm looking at naked ladies and not reasoning. This was probably due to her growing up in a very repressed period where sex and whatnot as all viewed as evil / sinful / whatever, as my parents even now cringe whenever sex is on TV in a movie or TV show or something and it's still a very taboo subject for them. However as i'm pretty much an adult myself being close to 20 now, i reflected on that and thought that i wouldn't get mad at my kids if i found they'd been looking at pornographic material - it's perfectly normal during puberty, right? As long as it wasn't illegal stuff and they were discreet about it, i don't see much of a problem with it, although i'd probably have 'that talk' with them about it.
