hey, no war of independence would mean no america. no america means no rock music (although we perfected it), no movies and no microsoft or apple.

I'd say those are some positive things to come out of it.

Weird sidenote, wasn't the UK at war with napoleon at the time?
No, he came to power after the french revolution, which was directly inspired by the american war of independence and took place more than ten years later.
The times aren't far out, but no we weren't.

The only people I know that do care about it is 12 year olds on Xbox Live. But then again, they seem to think the Revolution and WW2 are the same thing and Hitler was a British Communist so their opinions are invalid.

i don't care
and i think that most people don't

many people in england seem to have an ex-empire look in their eye for some reason

but i'm irish and have lived in england most of my life and i doubt that anyone who is on this site will actually care.

Honestly, I don't think there is anyone who gives a fuck.

It's never even been mentioned to me, let alone bitterly.

Are you guys mad that we won the Revolutionary War? If so why? Do you think we would be better off if you guys won?
Keep reading the history from both sides, and question their sources. I think it'd be a very tough call to say you "won".

You separated from England as the sovereign nation. Not the same thing. Same could be said about India and Hong Kong.

Was the Revolutionary War much of a big deal for us back then? Nowadays nobody seems to care.

English as can be. And in all honesty I'm glad you won. The governing body of England at the time were fat cat rich-ards who were just sapping America for monies. Not that you can blame them. Though I believe that had this continued. It would only have lead to a greater conflict with much dire consequences. Imagine the revolutionary war happening now. It was rifles and cannons back in the day. Now it would be massive destruction. And you guys would be labelled terrorist.

However I would be more easily able to get a visa to live there... you know what, I wish we'd won. If only so I wouldn't have to play the lottery and prove my worth to the religious offspring we didn't like. Like being British wasn't proof enough that I'm worthy.

On a side note, its the release dates that make me want to use a flail upon your collected genitals.

Peace from the tiny speck of land with more political muscle than land mass.

It's not something I've paid any thought to if I'm honest.

I only ever studied History at a low level, and we never learned anything regarding the British Empire or related topics, so it's never really been brought to my attention.

I'm not patriotic at all either. I didn't choose where I was born so why should I be proud?

I couldn't care less about the topic. I am angry at America but that's down to a few modern day problems.

I voted no, but what I really meant was I don't care.

It happened a fair while ago, so frankly, I don't care... it was the center in one of the campaigns in that dreadful Empire: Total War though. That was a really pathetic RTS.

I'm not bothered by it. I think the Americans were right to rebel and set up their own nation/government.
